Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics cannot go in the recycling cart, and the city publishes three routes instead: the city landfill, which takes computers, telecom and audio-visual equipment, printers, copiers and fax machines for a per-weight cash charge; Republic Services, which takes computers, phones, printers, stereo equipment, radios and fax machines at its office on College Drive, and collects a television from a single-family residence inside city limits on a scheduled pickup; and Staples, which takes computers, monitors, keyboards, laptops and printers. The water heaters, furniture and appliances that the free large-item collection names are separate from these devices, so a television is booked with Republic Services on a scheduled pickup instead.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Staples at 1851 Kiowa Avenue takes computers, monitors, keyboards, laptops and printers at no published charge, and Republic Services takes computers, telephones, cell phones, printers, stereo equipment, radios, fax machines and, for a single-family residence inside city limits, televisions on a scheduled pickup; the city landfill takes e-waste by weight and is cash only.
When & how
Staples is a retail counter, Republic Services takes these items at its Lake Havasu City office, and the landfill is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. A television from a single-family residence inside city limits has to be scheduled with Republic Services in advance and counts against the six annual bulk visits.
Get it ready
Wipe the drive or reset the device and keep the screen whole, because a broken tube is a handling hazard. Never put electronics in the recycling cart, which the city's brochure says plainly refuses them, and never mix them into a construction or household trash load.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Carts go out the night before, close to the street and not in it

Place carts at the street the night before the service day, as close to the street as possible but not in it, with the wheels toward the house and the lid closed. Leave three feet to the street and four feet of clearance from other carts, mailboxes, cars and fire hydrants, and remember the collection window starts at 5 a.m., so anything set out later may be missed.

Trash and recycling page: the haulier, cart and set-out rules, collection window, the scheduled bulk item service, holiday handling, the landfill address and hours and the annual hazardous waste day

Household waste only, with liquids and batteries kept out

The cart takes residential household waste only, so no commercial material, remodeling debris, dirt or rock, and no tires, car batteries, liquids or other hazardous waste. No hot ashes either, and the cart itself belongs to Republic Services, so it stays with the address. Green waste goes in the trash cart or is bundled and tied at no more than four feet long and 18 inches thick, extra bags go beside a full cart, and paint is the one exception that can be dried out with kitty litter or sand and then placed in the trash.

Only three holidays interrupt collection, and then it runs a day late

Trash and recycling are collected on every holiday except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. When one of those falls in the collection week, service runs one day later for the rest of that week, so a Thursday route moves to Friday and Friday moves to Saturday.

Recycling goes in empty, clean and dry, with the refusals kept out

Glass jars and bottles, cartons, plastic bottles and containers, aluminum, tin and steel cans, foil and pie tins, and paper and cardboard including flattened boxes, office paper, file folders, magazines, catalogs, newspaper, junk mail and phone books all belong in the recycling cart when they are empty, clean and dry. Food waste, clothing, yard waste, styrofoam, ceramics and dishes, light bulbs, window glass and mirrors, plastic grocery bags, construction waste, electronics, motor oil containers and hazardous waste do not.

City of Lake Havasu City and Republic Services

Haul the load to the Lake Havasu City landfill

A household that would rather move the load itself, including e-waste the landfill accepts, and any bulky item the pickup route refuses.

Cost & conditions
The landfill charges by weight and takes cash only, and no rate is published on the city pages, so the cost is confirmed at the gate or with Republic Services at 928-855-9441.
Arrange it
Drive two miles east off Highway 95 to 3251 Chenoweth Road and use the gate Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. or Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, with cash ready because cards are not accepted.

The published e-waste list covers computers, credit card machines, telecom, test and laboratory, medical and audio-visual equipment, printers, copiers and fax machines, and bio-medical waste is refused. Construction material has no published acceptance list, so confirm it before loading.

Drop electronics at Staples

A household with computers, monitors, keyboards, laptops or printers that should not go in the cart or the bulky pile.

No charge. Staples at 1851 Kiowa Avenue is published by the city as accepting computers, monitors, keyboards, laptops and printers, with no fee stated.
Arrange it
Take the devices to the Staples counter at 1851 Kiowa Avenue in Lake Havasu City and hand them in.

The published list stops at computers, monitors, keyboards, laptops and printers, and the city page does not give opening hours, so call the store at 928-505-1101 before a first trip and use the landfill or Republic Services for other devices.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

A Lake Havasu City household that hauls its own load uses the city landfill two miles east off Highway 95 at 3251 Chenoweth Road, open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, where payment is cash only and the gate charges by weight. The landfill takes e-waste including computers with all their parts, credit card machines, telecom, test and laboratory, medical and audio-visual equipment, printers, copiers and fax machines, and it refuses bio-medical waste. A residential load of bulky material can also go to the free scheduled curbside collection instead, which the city describes as the way to avoid the landfill disposal fee, and electronics can go to Staples at 1851 Kiowa Avenue. Household chemicals rarely need a landfill trip at all: the city publishes year-round drop-offs for antifreeze, batteries, used oil, gasoline, propane bottles, compressed gas tanks, mercury thermostats and fire extinguishers, and a household hazardous waste collection day announced during the year. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Lake Havasu City.

How much does TV removal cost in Lake Havasu City?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Lake Havasu City?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do Lake Havasu City televisions and computers go?

Not in the recycling cart, which refuses electronics. Computers and similar equipment can go to the city landfill, which charges by weight in cash, or to Staples at 1851 Kiowa Avenue, which takes computers, monitors, keyboards, laptops and printers. Republic Services also takes computers, phones, printers, stereo equipment, radios and fax machines, and a television only from a single-family residence inside city limits on a scheduled pickup.Official guidance

Carts belong to Republic Services and stay with the address, collection runs between 5 a.m. and 6 p.m., and everything should be out the night before because the trucks start at the beginning of that window.Official guidance

Where is the landfill and how do I pay there?

The Lake Havasu City landfill is two miles east off Highway 95 at 3251 Chenoweth Road, open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Payment is cash only and the gate charges by weight, so a household trip should be planned with that in mind.Official guidance

Used oil goes to AutoZone or O'Reilly Auto Parts up to five gallons per visit, and vehicle batteries go to All American Battery. Household and rechargeable batteries go to Home Depot, Lowe's or Staples, while fluorescent bulbs go to Home Depot or Lowe's only. Antifreeze goes to Any Radiator, propane bottles to A&B Propane, and paint simply needs to dry out before it goes in the household trash. Republic Services also accepts oil and gasoline during the year, and the city announces a household hazardous waste collection day.Official guidance

Residential household waste only: no commercial material, remodeling debris, dirt or rock, no tires, car batteries, liquids or other hazardous wastes, and no hot ashes.
