HOA communities receive pre-assigned appointment dates (published in the city's bulk trash community appointments PDF). Items must be placed by 5:30 AM on pickup day. The city proposed a multi-year solid waste rate increase: $6/month increase effective July 1, 2026 (bringing the monthly fee to $43.32 for 425,000 ratepayers), plus $6 in July 2027 and $5 in July 2028. Optional curbside green organics subscription rises to one-fourth of the monthly rate ($10.83 starting July 2026). Minimum operating reserve: $50 million. Phoenix owns two transfer stations (north and south) — the South Transfer Station at 2728 W Buckeye Rd charges $55/ton for loads over one ton, with a $20 fee for CRT electronics.
