Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Electronics and televisions

Accepted with preparation

Electronics are named in the Neighborhood Cleanup item list and again on the household hazardous waste page, which accepts household electronic waste including computer components, television sets, VCRs, cell phones, home phones and small appliances at its three annual events.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. The cleanup route is limited to City of Yuma residents paying the Environmental Fee. The household hazardous waste events are free and open to City of Yuma and Yuma County residents because the program is funded through the city Environmental Fee.
When & how
Take devices to a household hazardous waste event, or set them out during the Neighborhood Cleanup dates for the address area. The city lists three hazardous waste events a year, all from 8 a.m. to noon.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data from computers and phones before they leave the house, keep devices out of the blue recycling container, and never leave a lead-acid car or boat battery or a pressurized item in the load, because the events refuse pressurized gas and lead-acid batteries while taking ordinary household batteries. At the event, unload onto the designated tables.

What the cleanup will not take

Roofing and construction material, tree stumps, concrete and dirt, tires with rims, abandoned or commercial vehicles and farm equipment are all refused. Household hazardous waste such as motor oil, pesticides and other chemicals never belongs in the cleanup pile, and commercial dumping is not allowed. Move those items to a household hazardous waste event or a private route instead.

For your Dropcurb pickup

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Yuma has one city named self-haul site and one annual curbside route. The Recycling Drop Off moved to the Republic Services Transfer Station at 3040 S. Avenue 3 1/2 E, open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon and closed Sunday; tell the scale operator you are dropping off recycling and bring only recyclables, because regular trash is charged for and no rate is published. For bulky household items, the Neighborhood Cleanup comes to the curb instead, so there is nothing to haul: check the area dates, keep piles separated and light, and hold construction material, hazardous waste and anything commercial for a private route or a household hazardous waste event at 1473 S 2nd Avenue. A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Yuma.

How much does TV removal cost in Yuma?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Yuma?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
