Does Office Depot recycle toner cartridges?

Yes. Office Depot accepts empty toner cartridges of any brand at the register. Rewards require a qualifying purchase in the same month and apply to up to 10 cartridges per month; additional cartridges can still be recycled without rewards. The reward is not cash or a printer trade-in, and recycling a whole printer follows separate Tech Recycling Box rules.

What to do with empty cartridges

If you only have empty toner cartridges, take them to an Office Depot register and check whether your purchase and monthly cartridge count qualify for rewards. If you have more than 10, you can still recycle the additional cartridges without rewards.

If the printer itself is also leaving, use Office Depot’s separate printer recycling process.

Frequently asked questions

Is toner recycling the same as recycling a whole printer?

No. Office Depot’s cartridge recycling program is separate from its Tech Recycling Box rules for whole printers. Check the applicable printer-recycling requirements if you need to dispose of the printer itself.
