Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

Televisions, computers and other electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronic waste is expressly not a bulky item, so the azusa route is the city's own drop off. Weekday drop off is discontinued until further notice, and the current program is E-Cycle Saturday on the third Saturday of each month except holidays, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Public Works yard on North Angeleno Avenue. Televisions, computers and accessories, circuit boards, microwaves, phones, stereos and DVD players are all on the accepted list.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Open to Azusa residents who bring an ID or utility bill showing an Azusa address, on the third Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to noon at 809 N. Angeleno Avenue; weekday drop off is discontinued until further notice, and business e-waste is not accepted.
When & how
Take the devices to the Public Works yard at 809 N. Angeleno Avenue on the third Saturday of the month between 8 a.m. and noon, except when the date falls on a holiday.
Get it ready
Bag household batteries and old cell phones separately in a container marked for batteries and cell phones rather than mixing them with the electronics, leave a damaged battery out because it is not accepted, and keep bulky waste, car parts and hazardous waste such as oil, paint, car batteries, sharps and medications out of the load.

Carts go out the night before or by 6 a.m.

Barrels go out the night before the service day or by 6 a.m. on the day itself. Athens observes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, and a holiday creates a one-day delay in collection, while a holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday does not delay service. Homes of four units or fewer use three carts, black for trash, blue for recycling and green for organics, and food waste in the green cart has to be in clear or transparent bags.

What the bulky pickup will not take

Construction debris, electronic waste, universal waste and car bodies are not bulky items, and neither is any piece over 60 pounds or outside the width and length limits. Electronics go to the city's monthly E-Cycle Saturday drop off instead, a renovation needs a temporary bin or roll-off container from Athens, and hazardous items such as paint, oil, batteries, sharps, medications and tires go to a Los Angeles County roundup. Bags of trash that do not fit the barrel are not bulky items either.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Azusa's own drop off is the E-Cycle Saturday event at the Public Works yard on North Angeleno Avenue, which takes televisions, computers, monitors, microwaves, phones, stereos and similar devices from Azusa residents on the third Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. to noon, with household batteries and cell phones bagged separately. Everything else in this guide moves by truck rather than by resident: bulky items such as furniture, mattresses and appliances are collected free by Athens Services once the pickup is booked at least 24 hours ahead, renovation material needs a temporary bin or roll-off container from Athens because construction debris is not a bulky item, and hazardous items have no local site at all, so paint, oil, batteries, sharps, medications and tires wait for a Los Angeles County roundup whose date and location come from (888) CLEAN-LA. A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Azusa.

How much does TV removal cost in Azusa?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Azusa?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
