Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition material

Not on the regular city route

Construction and demolition waste is named as outside the city bulky programme, and it is also refused at the city household hazardous waste events, so a project load needs a county landfill or a private container.

City cost & eligibility
No construction rate is published in the sources read here. The county publishes landfill fees on its own fee page and the county landfills publish their own schedules, so confirm the accepted material and the price for Orange County residential disposal before loading.
When & how
Take the load to the Prima Deshecha Landfill in San Juan Capistrano, which the county lists for public as well as commercial disposal, or order a private container. County landfills run Monday through Saturday on varied schedules.
Get it ready
Keep construction and demolition material out of the curbside bulky pile, where it is refused, and out of the household hazardous waste events. Tarp or secure the load, because the county requires covered loads, and check the county refusal list before leaving.

Household hazardous waste limits and refusals

A household can bring 125 pounds or 15 gallons of household hazardous waste per vehicle to a city collection event, with each container no larger than five gallons. Events take paint products and thinners, antifreeze, pool chemicals, household cleaners, fire extinguishers, used motor oil and filters, thermometers, smoke detectors, pesticides, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, and electronic waste. Sharps, ammunition, appliances larger than microwaves, asbestos, construction materials, leaking containers, pressurized cylinders, tires, trash, explosives, radioactive waste, biomedical waste and unknowns are refused, and batteries and sharps run through their own programmes.

City of Mission Viejo Public Works, with Waste Management of Orange County

Self-haul a project load to a county landfill

An Orange County household or business with construction, demolition or other heavy material that the curbside programmes refuse.

Cost & conditions
The county publishes landfill fees on its own fee page and no price is asserted here, so confirm the fee and the accepted material for the specific load before travelling.
Arrange it
Use the Prima Deshecha Landfill in San Juan Capistrano, which the county lists for public and commercial disposal, on a Monday through Saturday schedule, with the load tarped or secured.

The landfills accept waste from Orange County residents and businesses only and may ask for proof of address. Asbestos, batteries, chemicals, auto parts, fuels, tires, paints, poisons, pesticides, contaminated soils, medical and animal waste, radioactive material, explosives, liquid waste and nuisance dust are refused.

With a new purchase

Order a private container for renovation debris

A household or contractor with a project load that is easier to keep on site than to haul.

Cost & conditions
No public container rate is published for Mission Viejo, because the container company quotes its own price for the box, the haul and the disposal. Confirm the accepted material and the rate before ordering.
Arrange it
Contact a licensed container or hauling company to place the box, and have the same company collect it when the work is finished.

Construction and demolition material cannot go in the curbside bulky pile, and hazardous material such as paint, pesticides and batteries needs the county route rather than a box.

See what the city excludes from bulky collection

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Mission Viejo keeps bulky items on the curb and sends hazardous material to a gate. Furniture, appliances, electronic equipment and similar large items go out free on the regular trash collection day, up to five items and three times a year, booked with Waste Management at 949-642-1191 at least 48 hours ahead. Household hazardous waste goes to one of the two city collection events each year or to any of the four Orange County centers, free to county residents, with the nearest at 32250 Avenida La Pata in San Juan Capistrano and 6411 Oak Canyon in Irvine, both open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and limited to 125 pounds or 15 gallons per vehicle. Batteries drop off in the lobbies at City Hall, the Norman P. Murray center, the library and three recreation facilities. Construction and demolition material is refused at the curb, so it goes to the Prima Deshecha Landfill in San Juan Capistrano, which takes public as well as commercial waste from Orange County residents, or into a private container. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Mission Viejo.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Mission Viejo?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Mission Viejo?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Where does renovation debris go in Mission Viejo?

Not in the curbside bulky pile, because the city excludes construction and demolition waste there, and not to a household hazardous waste event, where construction materials are refused. The nearest county landfill open to public disposal is Prima Deshecha in San Juan Capistrano, open Monday through Saturday on a varied schedule, and a private container is the other option.Official guidance

Who collects trash and bulky items in Mission Viejo?

Waste Management of Orange County holds the city's exclusive solid waste franchise and answers at 949-642-1191 or wmservice@wm.com. Households use a black, blue and green three-cart system, and the same hauler runs the free bulky collection, which takes up to five large items three times a year on the regular trash day.Official guidance
