Keep the green cart compostable only: yard trimmings, food scraps, grass, leaves, weeds, flowers, brush, small branches under four feet and six inches in diameter, unpainted scrap lumber and tree droppings. Keep out hazardous waste, recyclables, dirt and rocks, poison oak, bamboo, palm fronds, cypress, ice plant, animal waste, diapers, landfill waste and treated wood, because contamination draws a service charge.
The green cart takes compostable material only. Recyclables, garbage, hazardous waste, animal waste, dirt and rocks, and treated wood are refused, and the organics truck carries a camera, so a cart contaminated with trash draws a service charge and repeat offenders lose the cart.

What is the free clean-up day and what are its limits?+
Each residential customer receives one free clean-up day every twelve months that takes up to seven items reserved in advance. Individual items must be under 120 pounds and bags or bundles under 60 pounds, every item must be movable by two workers by hand, and liquids, hazardous material, oil and gasoline are refused. Where do paint, batteries and televisions go in Paso Robles?+
Not in the carts. Household hazardous waste is refused by the hauler and goes to the Paso Robles Landfill drop-off at 9000 CA Hwy. 46 East on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., which is free to county residents up to 15 gallons or 125 pounds and also takes electronics and televisions.Official guidance
