Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Not on the regular city route

Concrete, asphalt, lumber and drywall are refused on a bulky pile and in the carts, so a project load moves through a permitted temporary bin or a roll-off.

City cost & eligibility
The bulky item program refuses construction debris such as concrete, asphalt, lumber or drywall, and the hauler warns against construction and demolition material in the carts. NASA Services offers a three cubic yard bin, a ten yard dumpster for inert material and a forty yard dumpster for larger jobs, and the rate sheet for the period ending June 30, 2026 lists a first three cubic yard temporary bin including delivery, disposal and a 7 day rental. Confirm the bin size, the current rate and the permit before ordering.
When & how
Order the bin before the project generates debris so nothing lands in the carts or on a bulky pile, and keep the permit on hand for the placement period, because the city's bin permit is described as valid for 7 days.
Get it ready
Separate the inert material from household debris, because the ten yard dumpster is meant for dirt, rock, sand, concrete or stucco rather than grass or roots, and the three yard bin is for small remodeling and garage clean outs rather than heavy brick, concrete or sand. Keep unauthorized bins off the street, because an ordinance prohibiting them took effect in March 2023.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Cords, heavy metal and debris stay out of the carts

The trash cart refuses hot ashes, dirt, rocks, concrete, construction and demolition debris, heavy metal items such as auto parts, anything with a cord and household hazardous waste. Electronics belong on a bulky collection or at a free drop-off, and construction material belongs in a permitted temporary bin.

Rent a permitted bin for a project

A household or contractor with construction, remodeling or demolition debris that the carts and bulky collections refuse.

Cost & conditions
From $162.43 for a first three cubic yard temporary bin including delivery, disposal and a seven day rental on the hauler's rate sheet. The sheet states rates effective July 1, 2025 for the period July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 and also lists a ten yard and a forty yard dumpster, a bin exchange, a per day rental after seven days, and per ton rates for permanent roll-off boxes. The city describes the bin permit more than one way: a private property permit from the Planning Division, a curbside encroachment permit from Public Works that is free for residents and charged to contractors and businesses, and a free temporary use permit from City Hall valid for 7 days. Because the rate window has closed and the permit route is described two ways, confirm both with the city and with NASA Services at 888-888-0388 before ordering.
Arrange it
Order the bin from NASA Services, obtain the permit the city requires before the bin is placed, and keep inert material such as dirt, rock, sand or concrete for the ten yard dumpster rather than the three yard bin.

An unauthorized roll-off bin can be removed under the ordinance that took effect in March 2023, and residents either contract directly with NASA Services or self haul under the conditions the city sets.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Pico Rivera does not run a landfill or a transfer station, so the routes are the franchise hauler, the county collection program and the retail take-back counters. NASA Services collects ten free bulky item collections a year between July 1 and June 30 with up to four items each, which covers furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics and yard waste, and everything on the pile has to be movable by a two-man crew. Anything the bulky program refuses, such as paint, solvents, cleaners, pool chemicals, batteries, bulbs or electronics, goes through the Los Angeles County household hazardous and electronic waste program, which is free and runs rotating events and permanent centers that the county lists; call 888-CLEANLA for the next one. Paint has its own route, because participating retail stores take five gallons or less of primers, stains, sealers and clear coatings at no cost through the state paint program. Used motor oil and filters go to a certified collection center, and the city lists Auto Zone at 9350 Whittier Boulevard and Auto Zone at 9234 Slauson Boulevard. A retail counter in town takes batteries, CFLs, cell phones and plastic bags. Construction material never goes in a cart or on a bulky pile, and a temporary bin needs a city permit that the city page describes in more than one way, so confirm the permit route with the city and order the bin from NASA Services. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Pico Rivera.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Pico Rivera?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Pico Rivera?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

How do I clear construction debris in Pico Rivera?

Not with a bulky collection, because construction debris such as concrete, asphalt, lumber and drywall is on the refused list, and not in a cart, because the hauler warns against construction and demolition material there. Order a temporary bin or dumpster from NASA Services, choosing the ten yard dumpster for inert material or the three yard bin for a small job.Official guidance

Do I need a permit for a temporary bin?

Yes, and the city describes the permit more than one way, so confirm the route before ordering. The waste services page says a bin on private property needs a permit from the Planning Division, and a bin curbside needs an encroachment permit from Public Works that is free for residents and charged to contractors and businesses. A later section of the same page and the hauler's page say all residents ordering temporary bins must obtain a free temporary use permit from City Hall at 6615 Passons Blvd. that is valid for 7 days.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Pico Rivera?

NASA Services is the city's franchise waste hauler and handles residential and commercial waste, recyclables, green waste and construction and demolition debris, while the city's Office of Sustainability oversees the service. NASA customer service is 888-888-0388, and the city's utility and waste questions go through City Hall at 6615 Passons Blvd.Official guidance

How is the Pico Rivera trash rate set?

The hauler publishes a rate sheet for the city that lists the monthly cart service charge, additional cart charges, overage and extra pickup charges, the charge for a bulky pickup beyond the free collections, and the commercial and roll-off schedules. The sheet posted for Pico Rivera states rates effective July 1, 2025 for the period ending June 30, 2026, so confirm the current amount on the account with NASA Services at 888-888-0388.Official guidance

Do apartments get the same bulky service?

Multifamily complexes are allocated one bulky item collection for each unit each year rather than the ten collections a single-family household gets. A resident in an apartment should ask the property manager or NASA Services at 888-888-0388 who places the request for the property.Official guidance

Where do tires go?

Pick-up truck and automobile tires are on the refused list for bulky collections, so they cannot go out with a pile and cannot go in a cart. The city links the Los Angeles County tire recycling route from its waste services page, and a tire retailer is the other common route for a household set of tires.Official guidance

How does yard waste go out?

Yard trimmings, leaves, grass and small branches go in the green cart, and any additional bags or bundles of green waste are collected as a bulky item rather than in a full cart. During January, Christmas trees are collected every week on the regular collection day, cut in half if over seven feet tall, with tinsel and ornaments removed.Official guidance

Is there a special collection for horse manure?

Yes. NASA Services offers a special collection and recycling of horse manure and bedding, and the material is composted with a local facility rather than landfilled. Bin sizes and prices come from NASA Services at 888-888-0388.Official guidance
