Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronic waste

Accepted with preparation

Consumer electronics and flat screen televisions up to 48 inches are accepted at the Spring Clean-Up, and the year-round route is a Denver electronics recycler that takes household electronics, computers, small appliances, cell phones and televisions with a published fee schedule. CRT tube and projection televisions are refused at the village event, and the door-to-door chemical program also collects electronics.

City cost & eligibility
The Spring Clean-Up takes consumer electronics and flat screen televisions up to 48 inches at no charge for residents, while the year-round recycler charges a fee that it publishes, and the door-to-door chemical pickup has its own resident co-payment. Confirm the item and the fee before a trip, because a CRT television is refused at the event.
When & how
The village event runs one day only, Saturday May 16, 2026 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. The recycler takes drop-offs Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 1pm with no appointment needed.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, keep CRT, tube and projection televisions out of the village load because they are refused there, and keep electronics out of the trash because the door-to-door program lists electronics among the materials it collects.

Everything municipal happens on one event day a year

Cherry Hills Village runs no curbside collection and no bulky pickup route, so the annual Spring Clean-Up is the only village collection event. It runs one day only, on Saturday May 16, 2026, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Public Works Facility at 2101 W Quincy Avenue in Sheridan, and residents must show a driver's licence with a Cherry Hills Village address to unload.

What the village event will not take

Mattresses and box springs, large appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers and vacuums, CRT tube or projection televisions, construction related materials, tires, medicines and prescriptions, biological waste, asbestos, ammunition and explosives, commercial supplies, incandescent bulbs and smoke detectors are all refused. Hazardous chemicals are accepted only in proper containers, because leaking or empty containers, unknown or unlabelled material, insecticides and radioactive items are turned away.

Use the specialist route for bedding, appliances and electronics

The Village publishes its own short list of hard-to-recycle routes: a mattress recycler for bedding, a scrap metal yard for most large appliances, a Denver electronics recycler that takes household electronics, computers and televisions on weekdays and Saturdays with no appointment, a battery retailer for rechargeable and lead-acid batteries, donation outlets for reusable building material and appliances, and auto parts stores for used motor oil.

Chemicals move by appointment, not to the kerb

Household chemicals are collected at the door under the Village contract with Waste Management At Your Door, booked by phone, with a resident co-payment at collection and a village contribution that stops once the annual funds are used up. Paint, batteries and fluorescent material can also go to the spring event instead, and the county lists automotive products, batteries, garden chemicals, paint, household chemicals, mercury items, pool chemicals and electronics among what the pickup service takes.
