Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Columbine has no city or county collection to fall back on

Columbine is unincorporated, so a household contracts a private hauler for the weekly trash, recycling and organics service and arranges anything large with that hauler. Arapahoe County publishes no residential collection, transfer station or landfill programme, so the public route for a load that will not fit the cart is a self hauled trip to the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site at 3500 South Gun Club Road in Aurora, open weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed Sunday.

The hazardous waste center is by appointment only

The Veolia Colorado Recycling Center at 9131 E. 96th Ave. in Henderson takes household chemicals and electronic waste by appointment booked online or at 303-526-8155. From April through October it opens on Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on one Saturday a month from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and from November through March it opens on one Wednesday a month from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Architectural paints and coatings are free, other chemical and electronic waste carries a facility fee plus an amount per pound, and payment is by cash or credit card. Tires, controlled substances, medical waste, radioactive items and compost are refused and go to the destinations the center lists.

Check donation before treating anything as waste

The Habitat Metro Denver ReStores consider gently used furniture, housewares and appliances for donation and take them at a donation dock open every day from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Littleton store on West Quincy Avenue and the other Metro Denver locations, with every piece approved by staff. The same programme refuses mattresses, electronics, paint, used batteries, fluorescent lighting and non working appliances, so those items go to the recycler, the hazardous waste center or the landfill gate instead.

Self hauling from Columbine means the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site at 3500 South Gun Club Road in Aurora, which takes non hazardous material including municipal solid waste and construction and demolition debris, opens Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is closed Sunday, and takes payment by cash, check, card or credit account. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Columbine.

How much does TV removal cost in Columbine?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Columbine?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
