Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics are refused on the city large item pickup, so a television or computer goes to the Rooney Road Recycling Center by appointment or to one of the city's two seasonal drop off events.

City cost & eligibility
From $1.91 for the per pound charge for electronic waste at the Rooney Road Recycling Center. A television is charged at the same per pound rate with a maximum of 203.35 each, and hard drives are destroyed securely by a certified recycler. A load that also contains hazardous material pays the general co-pay for the first 75 pounds for a Jefferson County resident and 2.03 per pound after that, while paint products, automotive batteries, motor oil and one pound propane cylinders are listed as free. The centre's own pages disagree on one pound propane cylinders, listing them on the household hazardous waste page as free and on the pricing page as an 8 dollar 15 cent exception, so confirm the cylinder and the current charge at 303-316-6262 before loading. Curbside pickup from the center costs 40.00 for a resident who cannot drive. The city's seasonal drop off days take electronic recycling, personal computers and small household electronic appliances at no charge, with CRT monitors and televisions limited to three per customer.
When & how
Book an appointment at Rooney Road for a Wednesday or Saturday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., or wait for a drop off day at the Jefferson Junior and Senior High School north lot at 2305 Pierce St. on March 21 or October 17, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Get it ready
Rooney Road takes anything with a cord and destroys hard drives securely, and it notes that other certified electronic waste recyclers may cost less. At the city drop off days, keep the load to three CRT monitors or televisions and leave hazardous material, needles and batteries out of it, because those are refused.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Edgewater.

How much does TV removal cost in Edgewater?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Edgewater?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.
