The cleanup after the work

The project is done. Get your space back.

The new bathroom is ready, but the old vanity is still outside. A replaced door is taking up space you need. Put those leftover items on a pickup plan, with the price settled and updates through the final haul-away.

Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Construction, concrete and building material

Special rules apply

Construction material is not part of the city large item programme, and the county guide lists fee-based concrete and asphalt processors plus a building material reuse store and the area's transfer station and landfill.

City cost & eligibility
The county guide marks the concrete and asphalt processors with fees applying and publishes no amounts, and the landfill and transfer station rates are not published, so confirm the accepted material and the charge with the processor or the site.
When & how
Take clean concrete and asphalt to Orr Pitt at 1144 33rd Lane or Flex Materials and Recycling at 195 Vision Lane, both for a fee, donate reusable building materials to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 2313 S. Prairie Ave., or use Eden Transfer Station on 924-1884 or Southside Landfill on 948-2900 for disposal.
Get it ready
Keep construction material out of the large item load and out of the recycling loads, separate clean concrete and asphalt from mixed debris because the processors charge by load or by weight, and call the site before a first trip to confirm what it takes.

With a new purchase

Use the county guide for everything the city refuses

A household with computers, paint, batteries, light bulbs, mercury thermostats, concrete, asphalt or tires to place somewhere other than the city drop-off.

Cost & conditions
The county guide marks several of these routes with fees applying without publishing amounts, so confirm the accepted material and the charge with the business before loading a vehicle.
Arrange it
Use the guide's listings, including Best Buy, Goodwill and Staples for computers, D&S Paint Center and Southern Colorado Services and Recycling for paint, Batteries Plus and the home improvement stores for batteries and bulbs, and Orr Pitt or Flex Materials and Recycling for concrete and asphalt.

Several listings charge fees, mercury thermostats must be brought in whole with the mercury parts left in place, and items with freon are not accepted at the appliance and metal recyclers.

Haul a disposal load to a transfer station or landfill

A household with a mixed load that the city drop-off and the recyclers will not take.

Cost & conditions
The city recycling information page lists the sites and their phone numbers without publishing rates, so confirm the accepted material and the tipping charge with the site before loading.
Arrange it
Call Eden Transfer Station on 924-1884, run by C&C Disposal and Recycling, or Southside Landfill on 948-2900, run by Waste Connections of Colorado, and confirm the load and hours before the trip.

These are private facilities with their own accepted material lists and charges, and hazardous material still needs the county health department route rather than a disposal load.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Pueblo's published routes all run through the gate at 1595 Stockyard Road. A City of Pueblo resident buys a ten dollar voucher per large item, up to eight a year at one address, or a one dollar voucher per tire up to nine passenger sized tires a year, at 211 E. D Street or online, and brings identification or a recent utility bill. Mattresses, box springs, sofas, chairs, tables, dressers and appliances such as washers, dryers and stoves are all on the accepted list, with a sectional sofa counting as two items, while electronics including computers and televisions are refused. Cooling appliances are the exception that needs a call first, because the city page lists refrigerator and freezer but has suspended those vouchers and the RecycleWorks page refuses freon appliances. Anything the city will not take goes through the Pueblo City-County Health Department guide, which lists Best Buy, Goodwill and Staples for computers, D&S Paint Center and Southern Colorado Services and Recycling for paint, Batteries Plus and the home improvement stores for batteries and bulbs, Orr Pitt and Flex Materials and Recycling for concrete and asphalt, and the Habitat for Humanity ReStore for reusable building materials and working appliances. Eden Transfer Station on 924-1884 and Southside Landfill on 948-2900 take disposal loads by arrangement. Building material and appliance reuse store listed in the county guide

Habitat for Humanity ReStore Pueblo

2313 S. Prairie Ave., Pueblo, CO

Reusable building and remodel materials for resale, and working appliances, with the county guide noting electric items only, the store's own listing at 2313 Prairie Ave. and the guide's note that it is not accepting paint.

Items must be reusable for resale rather than waste, paint is refused, and electric appliances only, so confirm the piece and its condition with the store before a trip. The county guide's free recycling statement belongs to Appliance King, not to this store.

Hours are not published, so call the store on (719) 543-0702 before travelling.

The county guide lists the store for reusable building and remodel material and, electric items only, for working appliances, and the store sets its own donation terms, so confirm the item and any charge on (719) 543-0702 before a trip.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Pueblo.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Pueblo?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Pueblo?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Concrete and asphalt go to Orr Pitt at 1144 33rd Lane or Flex Materials and Recycling at 195 Vision Lane, both of which charge a fee and also take limbs and branches. Reusable building materials go to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore at 2313 S. Prairie Ave., and the city recycling information page lists Eden Transfer Station on 924-1884 and Southside Landfill on 948-2900 for disposal loads.Official guidance

Who handles large items in Pueblo?

D Street sells the vouchers, answers on (719) 553-2295 and is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Pueblo City-County Health Department guide is the reference for everything outside those programmes, from computers to paint and concrete.Official guidance

What about paint, batteries and concrete?

The county guide routes paint to D&S Paint Center at 715 West Street, Sherwin-Williams at 3205 N. Elizabeth Street and Southern Colorado Services and Recycling at 1731 Erie Ave., household batteries to retail drop boxes at Best Buy, Home Depot and both Lowe's stores, and clean concrete and asphalt to Orr Pitt at 1144 33rd Lane or Flex Materials and Recycling at 195 Vision Lane, both of which charge a fee.Official guidance
