Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

Electronics and televisions

Accepted with preparation

Plant City publishes no electronics route of its own, and Hillsborough County states that household electronics are accepted at its Community Collection Centers while the household hazardous waste collections refuse them. So a television or computer never goes in the garbage cart and follows the county route instead.

City cost & eligibility
The county page names the Community Collection Centers as the route for household electronics without publishing a charge, and the city publishes no electronics service, so the current terms and opening hours are confirmed with Hillsborough County before a device is taken in.
When & how
Use a Hillsborough County Community Collection Center for household electronics rather than a household hazardous waste collection, which refuses them. The county hazardous waste sites operate only on selected Saturdays, so the electronics route is arranged separately.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before a computer, phone or drive leaves the house, and keep televisions, monitors and computers out of the garbage cart at all times, since the city separates construction material, bulk items, yard debris and recycling from household garbage. Do not take electronics to a hazardous waste collection, because the county lists household electronics as not accepted there.

City of Plant City Solid Waste Division, with Hillsborough County

Take household electronics to a county Community Collection Center

A Plant City household with a television, computer, monitor or other household electronic device.

Cost & conditions
The county names Community Collection Centers as the route for household electronics but publishes no charge or hours on the page retained, and Plant City publishes no electronics service, so the current terms are confirmed with Hillsborough County before a device is taken in.
Arrange it
Use a Hillsborough County Community Collection Center rather than a household hazardous waste collection, which refuses household electronics, and wipe personal data before the device leaves the house.

The hazardous waste collections accept only what the county lists as hazardous, and household electronics are explicitly on the not accepted list there, so a television or computer cannot be dropped at a Saturday chemical collection.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Plant City's own division does most of the work. Garbage is collected in a city cart with the lid down, nothing loose beside it and the cart out by 6 a.m., and the monthly charge appears on the utility bill along with water and sewer at a rate set by cart size. Yard debris runs separately on Wednesdays, with leaves and clippings in bags or containers up to forty pounds and branches no thicker than five inches or longer than five feet tied into bundles, and anything heavier or larger goes on the grabber truck with one free load allowed per residence in twelve months. Large household items work through one free bulky load for a single-family account in the same twelve-month window, covering old furniture, appliances, horticultural refuse and minor do it yourself material, with the Solid Waste Division giving a free cost estimate on 813-659-4222 and quoting any special charge, and with unsafe or heavy material such as mirror glass, HVAC ducts, solar panels, roofing shingles, concrete, pavers, rock, brick, stone, boulders, cement and masonry refused. Household chemicals leave the city system entirely for a Hillsborough County collection on a Saturday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., free to county households, and household electronics go to a county Community Collection Center because the chemical collections refuse them. Mattresses and exercise equipment are the two items the city does not name, so both are confirmed with the division before they go out. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Plant City.

How much does TV removal cost in Plant City?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Plant City?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can I take a television in Plant City?

To a Hillsborough County Community Collection Center, because the county states that household electronics are accepted there while the household hazardous waste collections list electronics as not accepted. Plant City publishes no electronics route of its own, and a television never belongs in the garbage cart. Confirm the current terms with the county before the trip.Official guidance
