Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronic waste

Accepted with preparation

Volusia County takes obsolete electronics from residents at either of its household hazardous waste facilities, and the list names computers, monitors, printers, stereo equipment and televisions. That gives a television a documented local drop off even though the city garbage page does not mention electronics.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Residents may drop obsolete electronics at either Volusia County household hazardous waste facility, at the Tomoka Landfill in Port Orange or the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand, as published by the county.
When & how
The Tomoka Landfill is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and closed Sunday, and the West Volusia Transfer Station is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Both close on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, and check whether the device is still working first, because the county encourages donating working equipment for reuse before recycling it.

Hazardous material never rides the garbage

Paint, batteries, medical sharps and medications, pressurized containers, garden and pest control products, cooking oil and other liquid or sludge waste are not accepted in the garbage. They go to the Volusia County household hazardous waste facility at the Tomoka Landfill in Port Orange or the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand, where the paint exchange and the sharps drop off also operate.

City of Port Orange Public Works with Waste Pro of Florida and Volusia County

Use the Volusia County drop off for electronics and chemicals

A household with a television, computer, printer or stereo, or with paint, batteries, pool chemicals, gasoline, thinners or sharps that cannot go in the garbage.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Volusia County residents may use the household hazardous waste facilities at the Tomoka Landfill and the West Volusia Transfer Station, which also take obsolete electronics such as computers, monitors, printers, stereo equipment and televisions.
Arrange it
Drive to the Tomoka Landfill at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road in Port Orange or the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand during their open hours.

Both sites are closed on Sunday and on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas, so a trip should be planned around those days.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Port Orange runs its bulky program through the Waste Pro franchise rather than a transfer station of its own. Bulk household items such as furniture and appliances go out on the regular garbage collection day, large or multiple items wait for the neighborhood Claw Zone day, and the household calls 386-492-8855 so the crew knows the pile is there. Garbage is collected twice a week with bags inside cans of no more than 32 gallons or 50 pounds, yard waste is bagged or canned with branches bundled to four feet, and everything goes out by 7 a.m. with pick up running between 7 am and 7 pm. Residential remodeling debris is allowed when the resident does the work, while contractors of any type must remove their own debris at their own expense. Hazardous material and electronics do not ride the garbage: Volusia County takes household hazardous waste, sharps and obsolete electronics including televisions at the Tomoka Landfill at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road in Port Orange, open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and at the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand, and a self hauled load of debris, yard trash, clean debris or white goods is weighed at the county scale and charged by material class. A mattress or an exercise machine has no published route at all, so the household confirms it with the hauler first. worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Port Orange.

How much does TV removal cost in Port Orange?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Port Orange?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can a Port Orange household take a television?

To either Volusia County household hazardous waste facility, because the county states that residents may drop off obsolete electronics including computers, monitors, printers, stereo equipment and televisions at the Tomoka Landfill at 1990 Tomoka Farms Road in Port Orange or the West Volusia Transfer Station in DeLand. The Tomoka Landfill is open 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and closed Sunday.Official guidance
