Electronics are named in the household waste accepted at the Main Landfill and at the convenience centers, and recycling drop-off at both sites is free.
The handoff matters
Recycling goes in two sorted bins, one for paper and cardboard and one for rigid plastic, aluminum and tin, with no glass and no plastic bags. At a County facility, material has to arrive in original containers, open bins or clear bags so it can be inspected, plastic bags are disposed of separately, and proof of Hernando County residency is required along with help to unload because staff do not assist.

To the West Hernando Convenience Center on Osowaw Boulevard, which is in Spring Hill, or to the Main Landfill in Brooksville. Electronics are named in the household waste both facilities accept, so they are handled as a waste load rather than as a curbside item, and they cannot go in the garbage cart.Official guidance

Recycling is collected once a week in two sorted bins that come with the service: paper and cardboard in one, and rigid plastic containers, aluminum and tin in the second. Yes. Any of the three County facilities requires proof of residency, either a driver's license with a current Hernando County address or an out-of-county license with a TRIM notice, utility bill or deed, and all facilities take Hernando County waste only.
