Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Accepted with preparation

The city takes electronics and batteries at its Riberia Street facility but refuses televisions and hazardous waste, while the county transfer stations take obsolete electronics including monitors and televisions, so a television is a county trip and a computer is either.

City cost & eligibility
Neither the city electronics page nor the county transfer station page publishes a fee for electronics, so confirm before a large load. The city number is 904-825-1049 and the county Solid Waste Division is at 904-827-6980, and the county gate takes cash or check only for anything it does charge.
When & how
Take computers, monitors, batteries and small appliances to the city Solid Waste Facility on Riberia Street, weekdays 8 am to 2 pm, or take anything the city refuses, including a television, to Tillman Ridge or Stratton Road, open Monday to Friday 7 am to 6 pm and Saturday 7 am to 1 pm.
Get it ready
Wipe stored data where the device powers on, keep chargers and cables with it, and keep electronics out of the curbside recycling cart, which the county list says must stay free of electronics, wire and holiday lights. Televisions and hazardous waste never go to the city drop-off.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Separate the streams and be out by six

Trash, recycling and yard debris are collected all year except on certain holidays, with north of King Street on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, south of King Street on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, and Anastasia Island on the same Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday pattern. Garbage, recycling and yard debris must be separated. The county recycling service publishes the set-out terms for the recyclable stream it collects: recyclables go loose and unbagged in the cart, the cart sits no more than three feet from the curb and clear of parked cars, mailboxes and poles, and nothing is collected outside the cart except flattened cardboard cut into three by three foot sections.

Plan the county trip for what the city refuses

Hazardous waste, televisions and anything else the city refuses go to a St. Johns County transfer station, either Tillman Ridge at 3005 Allen Nease Rd in Elkton or Stratton Road at 250 North Stratton Rd in St. Augustine, open Monday to Friday 7 am to 6 pm and Saturday 7 am to 1 pm and closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Hazardous waste arrives in an approved container that may have to be left behind, obsolete electronics including monitors and televisions are accepted, and anything charged at the gate is paid in cash or by check only.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in St. Augustine.

How much does TV removal cost in St. Augustine?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in St. Augustine?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and electronics go in St. Augustine?

Computers, monitors, batteries, printers, phones and small appliances can go to the city Solid Waste Facility on Riberia Street, weekdays from 8 am to 2 pm, but the city states plainly that televisions and hazardous waste are not accepted there. Take a television to a St. Johns County transfer station instead, Tillman Ridge at 3005 Allen Nease Rd in Elkton or Stratton Road at 250 North Stratton Rd in St. Augustine, where obsolete electronics including televisions, monitors and CPUs are accepted during open hours.Official guidance

Who collects trash in St. Augustine?

The city does. The Public Works Solid Waste Division runs residential and commercial trash, recycling and yard waste collection, with north of King Street collected Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, south of King Street and Anastasia Island on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The office is at 904-825-1049 or 601 Riberia Street, and it also arranges dumpsters, bulk item pickups and construction debris questions.Official guidance

Where do St. Augustine paint, oil and batteries go?

Paint, motor oil, gasoline, cleaners, pool chemicals, pesticides, antifreeze, propane cylinders, solvents and car or appliance batteries go to a St. Johns County transfer station, because the city states plainly that it accepts no hazardous waste at its facility or at any drop-off center inside the city limits. Household, car and tool batteries can also be dropped at the city Solid Waste Facility on Riberia Street on weekdays from 8 am to 2 pm. Fuel must travel in an approved container that may have to be left at the county station.Official guidance

Can I hire anyone to haul construction debris in St. Augustine?

No. City ordinance requires the use of an approved franchise hauler for construction and demolition debris removal, and the city publishes the authorised companies with their phone numbers, including Atlantic Disposal, Capital Waste Services, Construction Debris Removal, Hicks Roll Off and Recycling, John's Dumpster Rentals, Mobile Dumps, Republic Waste Service, Sims Trucking, Southern Comfort, Waste Management and Waste Pro of Florida. The city also rents dumpsters for construction debris, and small amounts may go out at the curb in 32 gallon containers, at most two per collection day, no longer than four feet and under 50 pounds.Official guidance
