The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Electronic waste is covered by two published routes. The city's collection schedule page states that residents may arrange free special pickup of televisions, furniture or computer equipment, while the county household hazardous waste centre takes monitors, televisions, printers and other plug-in electronics free from county households. The special pickup page's own free list does not name electronics, so the route is worth confirming.
City cost & eligibility

The special pickup page's itemized free list names furniture, carpet and appliances without electronics, so confirm which applies when the request is placed.
When & how
Call the Sanitation Department at 727-893-7398 to arrange the free special pickup of a television or computer, or take the device to the county HHW Center at 2855 109th Avenue N on one of its published operating days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., or to HHW North in Clearwater on a select Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, keep electronics out of the trash container, and keep rechargeable batteries with the chemical route, because the county accepts nickel metal hydride, nickel cadmium, small sealed lead acid, lithium ion and lithium polymer batteries with published limits.
A special pickup is arranged, not automatic. Submit the request in SeeClickFix and include a photo of the items to help expedite it, or call the Sanitation Department at 727-893-7398. Free items are scheduled by the department, anything outside the free list gets an estimate, and the resident confirms the fee before the pickup. Items go where the address normally sets out its trash: in the alley for an alley collection address, or on the curb for a curbside address. Regular trash and yard waste belong in the designated container rather than loose on the curb or in the alley.
Yard waste and chemicals have their own free routes
Yard material does not need a pickup. Five city brush sites open at 9 a.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. seven days a week, closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, and they take grass clippings, brush, cuttings, trimmings, yard waste, mixed metals, appliances and cement roofing tiles from properties that pay an active sanitation charge, with proof of residency at the entrance. Household chemicals go the other way, to Pinellas County's household hazardous waste centres, which take paint, automotive fluids, batteries, bulbs, mercury devices, pool and spa products and other chemicals free from county households within published limits, and where the HHW Center at 2855 109th Avenue North also takes electronics and plug-in appliances.

Arrange a city special pickup
A city sanitation customer with furniture, carpet, an appliance, tires, batteries, doors, propane tanks, cabinets, windows or another large item.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Free for city sanitation customers within the published list and its maximums, with material outside the list charged 25 dollars and 65 cents per cubic yard after an estimate. The free allowance groups furniture, carpet and appliances at up to three cubic yards.
Arrange it
Submit the request in SeeClickFix with a photo, or call 727-893-7398, confirm whether the items are free or need an estimate, and place them where the address normally sets out its trash.
Item maximums apply: five car batteries, five car tires, two doors, two empty 20 pound propane tanks, three cubic yards of furniture, carpet and appliances, two kitchen cabinets and two windows. Anything beyond those limits is charged by the cubic yard, and nothing may sit loose in the alley or on the curb before the pickup is arranged.

Arrange it
Check the county programme calendar for the next operating day, then bring the material to the centre with identification, and consider the Swap Shop for reuse of household chemical products while there.
The programme is for county households only, not businesses, and limits apply per vehicle per day, including five gallons each of oil and antifreeze, two five gallon containers of gasoline or diesel with no tanks, 12 bulbs, 20 one gallon and five five gallon paint containers, 12 vape devices and one e-bike battery. Quantities above the limits are referred to the business collection events.
