Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Special rules apply

Construction debris is collected by request rather than in the regular round, with published per ton disposal fees added to a timed pickup rate.

City cost & eligibility
From $106.94 for the published special residential pickup rate, charged per quarter hour with a minimum of the same amount and with disposal costs added on top. City of Tallahassee residential waste management customers, who may request a special pickup of bulky items, yard waste or construction and demolition debris. The rate is timed and does not include travel time, three to five business days are allowed from the request, and disposal is billed per ton on the same rate sheet.
When & how
By request through the City service request process, with three to five business days allowed after the request is submitted, and no regular route pickup for this material.
Get it ready
Keep construction debris off the bulky pile and out of the garbage barrel, because it is a by request material in the City program and recycling and construction and demolition debris sit outside the City exclusivity. Describe the material when the request is made so the disposal fee category is right, and keep it separated from household garbage and yard waste.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Stay inside six feet by four feet by four feet

A bulky item can be no larger than six feet long by four feet wide by four feet high and has to be something that will not fit in the garbage barrel. The City names appliances, small furniture, mattresses, lamps, bikes, chairs, tables, disassembled swing sets, plastic pools and barbecue grills. Anything bigger, or a pile that cannot sit at the curb, goes to a Cash for Trash event or to a special pickup billed by the quarter hour with disposal costs added.

Hazardous waste and project debris have their own routes

Hazardous waste is not picked up by the City at the curb and goes to a Cash for Trash event on the third Saturday of April or October, where a residential solid waste customer presents a City utility bill before unloading. Construction and demolition debris is collected by request rather than on the regular round, and electronics have their own by request Thursday route, so none of that material belongs in the garbage barrel or on the bulky pile.

City of Tallahassee Waste Management Services

Special residential pickup by request

A city household with an item larger than the bulky limit, a tree that will not fit the yard waste guidelines, or construction and demolition debris.

Cost & conditions
From $106.94 for the published special residential pickup rate, charged per quarter hour with a minimum of the same amount and with disposal costs added. City of Tallahassee residential waste management customers requesting a pickup of bulky items, yard waste or construction and demolition debris. The rate is timed, travel time is not included, and the per ton disposal fees on the same sheet are $63.05 for garbage, $50.18 for clean yard waste, $63.05 for mixed bulk waste and $160 for tires.
Arrange it
Submit the special pickup request, allow three to five business days from the request date, and have the material staged where the crew can reach it when the visit is scheduled.

The charge is timed, so a large or slow load costs more than the minimum, and the disposal fee category depends on what the load contains. Commercial customers always need a special pickup rather than the residential bulky round.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Tallahassee runs its own collection inside the city limits and the curb is the main route, because garbage and recycling come once a week and bulky items and yard waste come every other week on the Red or Blue week that applies to the address. A bulky item can be up to six feet long by four feet wide by four feet high, which covers a mattress, a couch, an appliance, a disassembled swing set and a grill. What does not fit, or what cannot sit at the curb, goes one of two ways: to a Cash for Trash event on the third Saturday of April or October, where hazardous waste and oversized bulky items are taken and a City utility bill earns a credit, or to a special pickup requested through the City and billed by the quarter hour with per ton disposal fees added. Electronics have their own by request Thursday route, and construction and demolition debris is collected only by request. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Tallahassee.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Tallahassee?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Tallahassee?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

How does construction debris get collected?

By request, from a residential waste management customer, and the City allows a special pickup of construction and demolition debris along with bulky items and yard waste. The rate is timed per quarter hour with a minimum of the same amount, and per ton disposal fees are added for the material collected.Official guidance

What disposal cost is added to a special pickup?

The City publishes per ton disposal fees on the same rate sheet, with garbage charged as Class I, clean yard waste as Class II, mixed bulk waste as Class III and tires at their own per ton rate, and the amounts shown on the special pickup page. A mixed special waste collection for items prohibited from regular service varies by type and tonnage, so the total depends on what the load contains.Official guidance

Who collects the waste in Tallahassee?

The City of Tallahassee Waste Management Services, which the City states is the exclusive provider of waste collection inside the city limits, with recycling and construction and demolition debris excluded from that exclusivity. Waste Management Services covers garbage, bulky items, yard waste and recycling for residential and commercial customers, and the service line is 850-891-4968.Official guidance

How do I find my pickup day?

The City publishes an address lookup for the pickup schedule, and the Red or Blue week calendar shows which week the address sits in along with the specific day inside it. The printed customer service guide that arrives by the start of the year carries the same information, and a holiday may push a pickup one day later.Official guidance

How do holidays affect pickup?

A customer may receive service one day later than the regular schedule when the pickup day falls on or after a holiday observed by the City of Tallahassee. The City publishes the holiday pickup schedules alongside the address lookup.Official guidance

How much is an extra garbage container?

The City publishes a monthly charge for an additional garbage container on top of the regular residential rate, a higher monthly charge for premium residential service, and the regular monthly charge for a home. The amounts sit on the service page rate table, and apartment service carries the regular monthly charge with bulky item service included.Official guidance

Does apartment service include bulky items?

Yes. The City charges apartments the regular monthly rate and that rate includes bulky item service. If the apartment complex management does not include the charge in the rental agreement, the City bills the customer directly, and the same bulky item size and set out rules apply.Official guidance
