Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Yard waste and dry items

Accepted with preparation

The weekly route also takes yard waste and dry items. Leaves, clippings, limbs and bundled brush go out in paperboard boxes, reusable bins or yard waste bags, and the same service takes flattened cardboard, broken-down household paneling and drywall, doors, windows and small panes of glass.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Yard waste and dry item collection is part of the required residential sanitation service for city addresses and is carried in the monthly sanitation charge. Dirt, mulch and rocks are not collected by the city crews.
When & how
Yard waste and dry items are collected once a week on the same day as the garbage for your address. Loose leaves are also vacuumed on scheduled weeks during the curbside leaf season, which runs from November 1 through January 31 in the designated district.
Get it ready
Bag or box yard waste and tie loose cuttings into bundles. Limbs from your own trees or shrubs must be no larger than four inches across and four feet long, bundles no heavier than 50 pounds, and each set-out no bigger than about four feet by six feet by four feet, or five 35-gallon reusable bins, or ten yard waste bags of 30 gallons or less. Cut cardboard flat to three feet by three feet, break paneling and drywall into pieces under four feet and under 50 pounds, keep glass panes three feet by three feet or smaller and free of jagged edges, and remove or flatten every screw and nail.

Construction and remodeling debris

Not on the regular city route

Construction debris is on the city do-not-collect list, and so are large remodeling items and large lumber. The one narrow exception is a resident's own small remodel waste, because paneling and drywall broken into short light pieces, and short sections of lumber, travel with the weekly dry item route.

City cost & eligibility
City crews do not collect construction debris, large remodeling material or large lumber. A resident's own small broken-down remodel waste can go out with the weekly dry item route at no extra charge, and any larger load goes to the Cobb County transfer station, where construction and demolition debris is charged from the in-county minimum for the first 400 pounds.
When & how
Small household dry items ride the normal weekly yard waste and dry item day for your address. Anything larger has to go to the Cobb County transfer station, which takes construction and demolition debris during its regular scale hours.
Get it ready
If you are doing the work yourself, break paneling and drywall into pieces under four feet and under 50 pounds, cut lumber to four feet and under, and stack it neatly at the curb. Work done by a hired contractor and any larger load has to leave the property another way, because the city crews will not take it.

Curb timing for carts and yard waste

Garbage and yard waste have to be at the curb or the edge of the paved roadway in front of the dwelling by 6:30 a.m. on your collection day. Refuse must be bagged and tied inside the city cart, and any cart placed for collection has to leave the sidewalk and the roadway clear.

Items city crews will not collect

Tires, batteries, construction debris, large remodeling items, wet paint, large tree limbs, rocks, dirt, logs, large lumber, pool chemicals and hazardous waste are outside the city collection service. Route tires and construction material to the Cobb County transfer station and check with the city or the county before setting out anything else on that list.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

The drop-off for the things Acworth curbside crews will not take is the Cobb County transfer station at 1897 County Services Parkway in Marietta, where household waste, construction and demolition debris, electronics, mattresses, tires and refrigerant appliances are all accepted at the scale house. Bring a valid Georgia driver's license, because that is the only proof of Cobb County residence the station accepts, and expect extra handling charges on top of the weight charge for electronics, tires, propane tanks, paint and refrigerated units. Yard debris goes to a separate vegetative waste site on the same parkway. Cobb County also runs recycling drop areas for paper, cardboard, cans, cartons and plastics, but those bins do not take electronics, furniture, mattresses, tires or hazardous material. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Acworth.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Acworth?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Acworth?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

How should yard waste be set out for collection?

Bag or box the material, tie loose cuttings into bundles, and keep each piece to the size limits: limbs no larger than four inches across and four feet long, bundles up to 50 pounds, and a total set-out around four feet by six feet by four feet. Set it at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on your collection day. Dirt, mulch and rocks are not taken.Official guidance

Will the city take construction or remodeling debris?

No. Construction debris, large remodeling items and large lumber are on the city do-not-collect list. Only a resident's own small pieces, such as paneling, drywall and short lumber broken down and stacked at the curb, ride the weekly dry item route. Larger loads go to the Cobb County transfer station.Official guidance

Where does something go if the city will not collect it?

Construction debris, large remodeling material, large lumber, tires, batteries, wet paint, pool chemicals and other hazardous waste are outside the city curbside service. The Cobb County transfer station at 1897 County Services Parkway takes most of that list at the scale house, and a valid Georgia driver's license is required as proof of residence. Call ahead if you are unsure whether a specific item is accepted.Official guidance

Which day is my Acworth collection day?

Garbage and yard waste are collected once a week on a day set for your address when the account is opened, and the city address map shows the day for a specific home. Large item pickups run on Thursdays and have to be booked with customer service at least one business day in advance. After a city holiday the route slides by one business day.Official guidance
