Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition debris

Not on the regular city route

Construction and demolition debris is on the city's list of material it will not handle, and the county landfill refuses large construction debris such as concrete and asphalt.

City cost & eligibility
Gainesville will not handle construction and demolition debris under any of its three routes, and the Hall County Landfill refuses large construction debris such as concrete and asphalt. The landfill does accept roofing shingles, but only at the landfill and never at the compactor sites or the recycling centre. Confirm a private roll-off or receiving site with the city Solid Waste Division at 770-532-0493 or the county division at 770-535-8284 before the work starts.
When & how
Ask the Solid Waste Division on 770-532-0493 or the county division on 770-535-8284 where the material can go, and arrange a private container if no county route applies, because neither the city curbside service nor the compactor sites accept it.
Get it ready
Keep blocks, bricks, concrete, asphalt, dirt, rocks, stumps and demolition material out of the curbside pile and out of the recycling container, and note that shingles are the one construction material the county landfill names, accepted there only.

Georgia rules decide what the city can take

The city states that it follows Georgia Environmental Protection Division rules and cannot handle biomedical waste, blocks, bricks, car parts, construction and demolition debris, dirt, explosives, flammables, hazardous materials, liquids, rocks, stumps, tires or wet paint. Setting a white good or electronic item at the curb before the pickup is arranged is itself a violation of city regulations. Paint is the one refused material with a published route, through the Hall County Landfill paint recycling programme.

The county landfill is inside Gainesville

The Hall County Landfill at 1700 Oakbrook Drive in Gainesville accepts only waste generated in Hall County, and visitors show a driver's licence and receive a printed ticket at check-in. A minimum tipping fee of 20 dollars covers the first 665 pounds of any load, with anything above that prorated at 60 dollars a ton, and payment is by cash, locally drawn cheque or the four major cards. Mattresses and box springs cost 10 dollars per item in addition to the weight of the load, a single refrigerant unit costs 10 dollars and multiple units 12 dollars each, tires are charged on a published chart with nothing over 24.5 inches accepted, and roofing shingles are accepted at the landfill only. The landfill refuses yard debris, bulk styrofoam, large construction debris such as concrete and asphalt, pressurized tanks, chemical waste, hazardous waste, liquid waste, mobile homes and boats, and it is closed on listed holidays.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Gainesville runs its own solid waste division, collecting garbage once a week at the curb with recycling the same day and everything in city-issued receptacles requested on 770-532-0493 from the division at 263 Alta Vista Road Suite B. The rules split three ways. Household garbage is bagged waste from normal living and cannot be mixed with curbside material, because the two streams go to different landfills on different trucks. Curbside is the occasional item too large for the garbage bag, limited to one cubic yard a week and four cubic yards a month without additional fees, with loose material bagged and clean-outs of attics, basements, rental turnovers, estates, evictions and storage buildings left to the resident. White goods are the third stream: appliances and electronic waste such as computers, monitors, televisions and stereo equipment, booked in advance on 770-532-0493 with a per-occurrence fee added to the next water bill and based on what is collected, and never set out before the arrangement is made. The city refuses biomedical waste, blocks, bricks, car parts, construction and demolition debris, dirt, explosives, flammables, hazardous materials, liquids, rocks, stumps, tires and wet paint. The Hall County Landfill at 1700 Oakbrook Drive in Gainesville takes Hall County generated loads with a minimum 20 dollar tipping fee covering the first 665 pounds and 60 dollars a ton above that, charges 10 dollars per mattress or box spring on top of the weight, 10 dollars for a single refrigerant unit and 12 dollars each for several, prices tires on a chart with nothing over 24.5 inches accepted, recycles latex, oil and solvent based paints by the container, and refuses yard debris, large construction debris such as concrete and asphalt, chemical and hazardous waste, liquids, boats and mobile homes. The city and county pages are retained as archived copies from 14 August 2026 because the live city site is behind a bot challenge, so confirm current details on 770-532-0493 or 770-535-8284. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Gainesville.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Gainesville?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Gainesville?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Where does Gainesville renovation debris go?

Not through the city. Construction and demolition debris, blocks, bricks, dirt, rocks and stumps are on the list of material the city will not handle, and the Hall County Landfill refuses large construction debris such as concrete and asphalt. Roofing shingles are the exception, accepted at the landfill only and never at the compactor sites or the recycling centre. Confirm a private container or receiving site on 770-532-0493 before the work starts.Official guidance

What will neither the city nor the county take?
