Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, electronics, batteries and paint

Special rules apply

Televisions and electronics do not belong in the trash container and go to the Keep Newnan Beautiful recycling events or a retailer, with batteries and paint on their own routes.

City cost & eligibility
The City names the routes without publishing a fee for them, so confirm the accepted device, the event date and any charge with the Keep Newnan Beautiful office through the Sanitation Department at 770-253-6025.
When & how
Take the device to a Keep Newnan Beautiful electronics recycling event, or a retailer such as Best Buy or Staples, and check the City calendar for the next event date.
Get it ready
Clear personal data before a computer, phone or drive leaves the property, keep every device out of the trash container, never put a rechargeable, lead acid or lithium battery in the garbage, and handle paint through the two annual recycling events or dry it out completely before disposal.
Residential refuse and recycling page with the one bin solution and its recyclable list, the glass and chemical exclusions, the battery and paint handling, the accepted and refused brush and bulk lists, the Freon tag requirement, the appliance and electronics routes and the medication and sharps instructions

City of Newnan Sanitation Department with Amwaste collection

Keep Newnan Beautiful electronics and paint events

A household with televisions, computers, phones, printers, batteries or paint that must stay out of the trash container.

Cost & conditions
The City names the events as the route without publishing a fee, and the dates come from the City calendar, so confirm the accepted material, the next date and any charge with the Sanitation Department at 770-253-6025.
Arrange it
Check the City calendar for the next Keep Newnan Beautiful electronics or paint recycling event, and ask the office about a battery drop off time if the material is not going to an event.

The events run on set dates rather than as a standing drop off, and paint that is not taken to an event has to be dried or solidified with completely dry containers before it can be disposed of.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Newnan splits the work between the City and its contractors. Amwaste collects the weekly garbage and recycling with the one bin solution, and the City runs the separate brush and bulk route that takes furniture, rolled carpet, glass doors, homeowner generated construction debris and appliances, with a Freon removal tag needed on a refrigerated unit. Everything the bins and the bulk pile refuse has its own published route: glass goes to a Coweta County Compact location because the curbside provider will not take it, televisions and the rest of the electronics go to a Keep Newnan Beautiful recycling event or a retailer such as Best Buy or Staples, rechargeable, lead acid and lithium batteries never go in the garbage and are handled at those events, paint goes to one of two annual paint events or is dried out completely before disposal, and used medication goes to a DEA Drug Take Back event while sharps go in a sealed container. Appliances can also be recycled at metal recyclers such as Newnan Salvage or Gentry Auto Salvage. The Sanitation Department answers on 770-253-6025 from 26 Jefferson Street, and Public Works is at 55 Boone Drive on 770-253-0327. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Newnan.

How much does TV removal cost in Newnan?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Newnan?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in Newnan?

Not in the trash container. The City names televisions, computers, cell phones, plugs, cables, cords, radios, DVRs, printers, copiers, speakers and desk phones as items recycled through Keep Newnan Beautiful electronics recycling events, Best Buy or Staples.Official guidance

What about batteries and paint?

Rechargeable, lead acid and lithium batteries should never go in the garbage because of the fire risk and are handled at Keep Newnan Beautiful electronics recycling events, while single use alkaline batteries may go in the trash bag. Paint goes to one of two annual Keep Newnan Beautiful paint recycling events, or is dried and solidified with the containers completely dry before disposal.Official guidance

Who handles trash in Newnan?

The City of Newnan Sanitation Department runs the programme, contracts Amwaste for weekly garbage and recycling inside the city limits, and bills residents through its own payment portal from 26 Jefferson Street on 770-253-6025. Brush and bulk are collected as a separate city service.Official guidance

What happens on a holiday week?

A collection day that falls on or after a holiday is delayed one day for that week, while a collection day before the holiday is not affected. The hauler and the brush and bulk truck observe New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and City Hall also closes for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.Official guidance

Where do household chemicals go?

Chemicals such as bleach, pesticides, solvents and corrosives should not be placed in the trash bin, and large amounts of hazardous waste are refused on the bulk route. The City directs residents to the Keep Newnan Beautiful office for the disposal route and to its events for batteries and paint.Official guidance

What about needles and old medicines?

Needles and syringes are refused on the bulk route and should go into a sealed container such as a plastic milk or juice jug with a lid. Medicines belong in their original containers at a DEA Drug Take Back event, never flushed down a toilet or sink, and the City calendar lists the upcoming dates.Official guidance

How is extra service arranged?

Backdoor service or an additional cart is requested through the City's additional service request form, and the sanitation bill runs through the City payment portal. Confirm any amount with the Sanitation Department at 770-253-6025.Official guidance
