The project is done. Get your space back.

The new bathroom is ready, but the old vanity is still outside. A replaced door is taking up space you need. Put those leftover items on a pickup plan, with the price settled and updates through the final haul-away.

Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Use a permitted outdoor spot with a clear path. Add a location photo and notes on your order page so the right entrance and the right items are easy to identify.

Construction and demolition material

Accepted with preparation

The city refuses construction and demolition material at the curb, and the Walker Mountain Landfill accepts it at the published gate rate.

City cost & eligibility
From $10 for the gate rate for zero to 250 pounds of garbage or construction and demolition material, rising on the published tier schedule to 46 dollars per ton above 2001 pounds. Floyd County waste only, and the landfill refuses hazardous waste, asbestos, batteries, liquid waste, tires on rims and appliances containing freon.
When & how
Haul the load to the Walker Mountain Landfill, open Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM and Saturday 8 AM to 2 PM, and call the landfill at 706-291-4512 with questions.
Get it ready
Keep construction and demolition material out of the garbage cart, the recycling cart and any yard pile, because the city refuses roofing, rock, cement, dirt, paint, oil and free liquid, and keep hazardous waste, asbestos, batteries, tires on rims and freon appliances out of the landfill load.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Construction debris, liquid waste, freon appliances and hazardous waste stay out of the carts

The city does not collect construction or demolition material, including roofing, rock, cement, dirt, paint, oil or any free liquid, and it does not collect freezers, refrigerators, air conditioners or any item that uses refrigerant gas. The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center never accepts mattresses, furniture, tires, glass or compost, and the Walker Mountain Landfill refuses hazardous waste, asbestos, batteries, liquid waste, tires on rims, appliances containing freon and any load that mixes garbage with yard trimmings.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Rome collects household garbage, recycling, the yard waste cart and junk items at the curb on one weekday between 7 am and 5 pm, and larger items such as old furniture go on the street by 7 am and are then scheduled with the office at 706-236-4580. The Rome-Floyd Recycling Center at 412 Lavender Drive takes the accepted recyclables plus appliances, scrap metal, shredded paper and books, with the appliance and scrap metal drop-off open around the clock and free confidential shredding Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., but it never takes mattresses, furniture, tires, glass or compost. Construction debris, household garbage and inert material go to the Walker Mountain Landfill at its published gate rates, which refuses hazardous waste, batteries, tires on rims, freon appliances and waste from outside Floyd County, and televisions, computers and household hazardous waste such as paint, chemicals and fluorescent bulbs go to the quarterly appointment-only collection events at the same Lavender Drive address. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Rome.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Rome?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Rome?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Where does Rome construction debris go?

The city does not collect construction or demolition material at the curb, including roofing, rock, cement, dirt, paint, oil or any free liquid. The Walker Mountain Landfill accepts construction debris such as wood, shingles, sheetrock and carpet at its published gate rates, starting with the first 250 pounds and rising to 46 dollars per ton above 2001 pounds, and it refuses hazardous waste, asbestos, batteries, tires on rims and appliances containing freon.Official guidance
