How to get rid of toys your family no longer uses

Sort old toys into complete usable toys, damaged toys and items needing special handling. Offer usable toys to a recipient that accepts them. Check a dedicated toy recycling program for broken pieces instead of assuming mixed plastic toys belong in the recycling cart.

Use the correct recycling pathway

Second Chance Toys also points donors to a TerraCycle pathway for broken or incomplete toys. Check current accepted materials and label instructions before shipping. Keep electronics and loose batteries separate until the receiving program confirms how to handle them.

When Dropcurb helps

For an accepted filled toy box you want removed, Dropcurb handles loading and transport once it is outside and accessible. Select the filled-toy-box item and check any unusual contents before booking. Large play equipment needs its own item selection; standard removal does not guarantee donation or recycling.
