Where to dump scrap wood near you

Separate clean, unpainted lumber and plywood from painted, chemically treated, composite or particleboard material. Do not burn treated wood or dump it in natural areas. A facility that accepts metal or other bulky materials may still exclude scrap wood, so check the specific material list before loading your vehicle.

Ask the receiving facility about dimensions, nails or other attachments, the material’s source, vehicle or hauler limits, cover requirements and the current fee. For San Diego’s Miramar example, load acceptance depends on the facility’s definitions and current schedule; other facilities may use different rules.
