Where can I recycle carpet in San Diego?

In San Diego County, use the current CARE San Diego carpet collection-site map. Before you drive, contact the specific site to confirm it accepts your carpet or padding, fiber, dry-condition material, residential or commercial load, amount, hours and fees. Do not rely on older lists: Aquafil Chula Vista closed in December 2025.

How to prepare before visiting

Open the current CARE San Diego map, choose a receiving site, and ask about your exact material and load. Confirm whether carpet must be dry, whether padding is accepted, whether residential or commercial loads are allowed, and the current amount, hours and fee rules before leaving.

If no recycler accepts your load, compare San Diego dump fees and preparation rules before choosing a landfill.

If self-hauling is impractical

Dropcurb handles accepted carpet that is already removed and rolled up, with each roll counted as one item. For accepted leftovers already outside and accessible, Dropcurb handles loading, transport and disposal. Standard pickup does not include indoor carry-out, so move the rolls outside before pickup or use a service that includes indoor carrying.
