Choose a location for your quantity
West Loop limits donations to four boxes, and North Lawndale uses appointments. Outdoor book bins accommodate up to 50 loose books; do not leave boxes beside them. Check the current donation page for receiving hours.

Remove books the program cannot use
Open Books welcomes books in good, sellable condition. Separate encyclopedias, older textbooks and magazines. School-library markings and large sets of identical titles have additional restrictions, so contact the organization before bringing those collections.

When Dropcurb helps
If your Chicago book clear-out leaves accepted boxes to remove, Dropcurb handles loading and transport once they are outside and accessible. Pack books in manageable boxes and count each filled box, not each book. Check heavy or oversized boxes with us first. Choose the charity directly when your goal is donation; standard pickup does not promise a donation destination.

For accepted items outside and accessible. Your pickup uses the highest first-item price, plus the additional-item price for each remaining item. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Prices are before applicable sales tax; see your total before payment.
