Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions

Special rules apply

A television cannot go in the trash cart or the recycling cart, so it moves through the county's household hazardous and electronic waste collection events or to the landfill, which takes televisions from households only.

City cost & eligibility
No curbside television price is published, so confirm the route before the set leaves the house. The county's quarterly household hazardous and electronic waste collection events are free to households with a limit per household, and a set taken across the county landfill scales is weighed at the gate with the county minimum load fee applying. Call the county landfill at 208-466-7288 with the screen size before you load it.
When & how
Use a county collection event when one is scheduled, or take the set to the landfill during its weekday and Saturday scale hours. The city's own disposal guide lists small televisions only at the collection events, so a larger set uses the landfill route. Keep the set out of the trash cart, the recycling cart and any curbside pile.
Get it ready
Keep the set whole and dry, take the remote and cords with it, take off any stand that comes away easily, and handle a cracked screen carefully because the display carries materials that do not belong in a cart.

Take chemicals and e-waste to a county event

A household with paint, solvents, pesticides, batteries, light bulbs, a television or other electronic waste that cannot go in either cart.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free to households at the Canyon County household hazardous and electronic waste collection events, with the amount of waste limited per household and business waste admitted only by appointment.
Arrange it
Check the event calendar, load the material so nothing can spill, and hand it to the crew at the posted site instead of leaving anything at the curb.

The events run four times a year rather than every week, they are open to households rather than businesses, and they refuse biological or radiological waste, explosives, ammunition and prescription drugs.

Book a private hauler for what the carts refuse

A landlord, business or household with an oversized pile, a mixed construction load or material that neither the carts nor a scheduled pickup will take.

Cost & conditions
No private hauling rate is published, and the city cart service is set by address rather than by volume, so the price depends on the hauler, the material and the load size. Ask for a quote before the pile is set out, and confirm where the load is going because some material still has to reach the county landfill.
Arrange it
Arrange the pickup with a licensed hauler and keep the material off the right of way until the hauler arrives, so a banned item is not left for the city or county crew to find.

A private hauler does not change the county's residency rule at the gate or the ban on hazardous waste, tires and electronics in the carts, so the load still has to reach a permitted site.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling a Nampa load means the Pickles Butte Sanitary Landfill on Missouri Avenue, which takes household waste from Canyon and Owyhee County residents, weighs every load at the scale house and keeps separate recycling areas for computers, bulk metal and appliances, refrigerators, lead acid batteries, used motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline, clean wood and tires. Household chemicals and electronic waste move through the county's quarterly collection events rather than the trash cart, the leaf and Christmas tree drop-off at Kohlerlawn Cemetery takes yard material closer to home, and the county's minimum load fee applies even to a small trip. Pickles Butte Sanitary Landfill

15500 Missouri Avenue, Nampa, ID 83686

Household garbage and solid waste from Canyon and Owyhee County residents, lead acid car and truck batteries, up to 10 gallons each of latex and lead based paint, used motor oil, used antifreeze and old gasoline or diesel from residents, refrigeration units, clean wood, construction and demolition material, green waste, tires, mattresses, televisions from households only, and the recycling area for computers, bulk metal and appliances, refrigerators, newspapers, magazines and aluminum or tin cans.

Household waste comes from Canyon and Owyhee County residents only and out-of-county loads are refused without prior approval; loads must be covered and secured; refrigerators, tires, wood and metal are separated from other waste; up to 15 passenger or light truck tires are taken per load; televisions are accepted from households only; and motor homes, buses and any drivable vehicle that needs licensure are not accepted.

Monday to Saturday 8:00 am to 5:30 pm with the gates closing at 5:30 pm, closed Sundays and on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Scale house 208-466-7288 extension 224; email picklesbutte@canyoncounty.id.gov.

From $5 for minimum fee for Canyon and Owyhee County residents, published as five dollars on the county solid waste page while the fiscal year 2025 fee schedule prints a ten dollar minimum fee, with municipal solid waste, construction and demolition waste, green waste, clean wood, tires, mattresses and refrigeration units priced separately by ton, by tire or by unit. Canyon and Owyhee County residents, including Nampa households, with each load weighed at the gate and extra hard-to-handle and load fees applied on top of the tipping fee; the two published minimums mean the minimum load charge is confirmed at the scale, and online card payment carries a convenience fee.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Nampa.

How much does TV removal cost in Nampa?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Nampa?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where does a television go in Nampa?

A television is banned from the trash cart and the recycling cart. A Nampa household uses one of the county's household hazardous and electronic waste collection events, which are free to households, or takes the set to the county landfill, which accepts televisions from households only and weighs the load at the gate.Official guidance

What do I need for a trip to the county landfill?

Bring proof that you live in Canyon or Owyhee County, cover and secure the load, and plan the trip for weekday or Saturday hours while the gates are open. Every load is weighed at the scale house, tires and refrigeration units are charged on top of the weight, refrigerators, tires, wood and metal are separated from other waste, and a load that arrives uncovered is charged a penalty.Official guidance

When are the household hazardous waste events in Canyon County?

The county runs household hazardous and electronic waste collection events four times a year, in March, June, September and December, at O'Connor Field House or the Ford Idaho Center, from 10am to 4pm. They are free to households with the amount of waste limited per household, business waste needs an appointment through Veolia, and explosives, ammunition, prescription drugs and biological waste are refused.Official guidance
