From $20 for the published landfill charge for each residential-sized refrigeration unit, with other appliances charged by weight at the household waste rate. Bannock County residents, while city dumpster containers in Pocatello refuse refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioning units, items with freon, hazardous waste and tires.

Take the refrigerator, freezer or air conditioner to the Fort Hall Mine Landfill at 1500 N Fort Hall Mine Rd, open Monday through Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and call 208-236-0607 with questions.
Get it ready
Empty the unit before hauling it, keep freon appliances out of the city containers and out of the yard and recycle carts, and keep them out of a county cleanup day load because appliances are excluded from those days.
Carts go out the evening before and by 7 a.m. on the collection day
Garbage carts are collected once a week on assigned days, recycling carts every other week on the same day, and the yard waste cart weekly from April 1 through November 30, with carts at the curb no earlier than 6 p.m. the day before and no later than 7 a.m. on the collection day. Leaf collection runs in November with leaves in brown paper compostable bags only, and Christmas trees are not collected curbside.
Tires, freon appliances, chemicals and bulky yard waste stay out of the city containers
The city's 3 yard containers refuse rocks, bricks, concrete and asphalt shingles, and they also refuse refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioning units, items with freon, hazardous waste and tires. Paint goes in only when it is latex paint dried out with sand or kitty litter, larger items have to be cut down so the lids can close, and the yard waste cart refuses tree limbs, branches, dirt, Christmas trees, kitchen and food waste, animal waste, compostable packaging and paper products.
