Couches, chairs, tables and other furniture that will not fit the cart use the weekly bulk allowance, as long as the piece is 50 pounds or less and is not one of the excluded categories.
City cost & eligibility
No charge. One furniture piece per week within the included bulk allowance for a Des Plaines household on the LRS contract.
When & how
Set the piece out by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day. A second piece in the same week needs an LRS appointment and a per-yard charge.

Will you carry my couch out of my apartment?+
Dropcurb starts outside. Arrange for the sofa to be moved through the apartment and down interior stairs before pickup. We load and haul it away from an accessible outdoor spot. Arrange any dismantling needed to get it outside beforehand.
Do I need to wait at home for couch pickup?+
You do not need to be home when your booked sofa is outside and accessible. Add photos and pickup-location notes to your order so the right pieces are easy to identify. We send updates and completion photos. Confirm any building access restrictions with us before booking.
Will LRS take a couch from the curb in Des Plaines?+
