Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Construction and demolition material

Special rules apply

Construction debris and wood are refused by the county recycling district, so a small renovation or roofing load goes to one of the contractor's roll-off or mini roll-off containers, which its page describes as suited to homeowner cleanups, small construction jobs and roofing jobs.

City cost & eligibility
The contractor publishes no container rate, so confirm the container sizes, the rental period and the disposal charge with Eco-Tech at 502-935-1130 before ordering, and note that the county recycling center cannot take construction debris or wood instead.
When & how
Order the container before the work starts, and keep the material out of the curbside trash and recycling services.
Get it ready
Keep demolition and roofing debris, concrete and asphalt, treated lumber and PVC piping out of the curbside load, because the county district lists concrete mix, asphalt and blacktop, construction debris and wood, PVC piping and tar among the materials it does not accept.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

New Albany sits on the county's recycling centers, so a self haul goes to 3005 Grant Line Road in New Albany, reachable at (812) 948-4733, while a second center at the Galena Digital Library on Highway 150 in Floyds Knobs opens one day a week and takes neither electronic waste nor household hazardous waste. The district prices electronic waste by the item, dry cell batteries by the pound, wet cell batteries by the battery, microwaves, fluorescent tubes by the linear foot and tires by the tire, and it takes glass, metal, paper, cardboard, cartons, paperboard and plastics numbered 1 through 7 from the recycling bins. Household hazardous waste comes only on the second Saturday of each month from April through October from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the season's last day on Saturday, October 10 and every container in its original labelled form, and the district refuses appliances, air conditioners, yard waste, construction debris and wood, styrofoam and propane tanks. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in New Albany.

How much does construction debris removal cost in New Albany?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in New Albany?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Where does construction debris go in New Albany?

The county recycling district does not accept construction debris or wood, so a small renovation or roofing load goes into a roll-off or mini roll-off container from Eco-Tech, whose page describes those containers as suited to homeowner cleanups, small construction jobs and roofing jobs. Call the office at 502-935-1130 for the container sizes and the disposal charge before the work starts.Official guidance

What should I do with material the curbside service will not take?

Appliances, air conditioners, yard waste and construction debris are refused by the county recycling center, so an appliance goes out on a scheduled bulky pickup from the contractor, yard waste fits the contractor's optional prepaid season service, and a renovation or roofing load goes into one of the contractor's roll-off or mini roll-off containers. Household paint and chemicals go to a county household hazardous waste collection, and tires go to the county center by the tire.Official guidance

What does the Floyd County recycling center accept?

Glass jars and bottles of any color, aluminum and steel cans, foil, empty aerosol cans, paper products, cardboard, cartons, paperboard, plastics numbered 1 through 7, motor oil, electronic waste from televisions and monitors to computer towers and microwaves, batteries by the pound or the battery, fluorescent tubes and tires. Household hazardous waste comes only on the second Saturday from April through October, and appliances, air conditioners, yard waste, construction debris and wood, styrofoam and propane tanks are refused.Official guidance
