Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in New Albany.

How much does TV removal cost in New Albany?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in New Albany?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do televisions and computers go in New Albany?

To the Floyd County recycling center at 3005 Grant Line Road, which publishes electronic waste prices for any item with a screen including televisions, monitors and laptops, for computer towers and video display devices, for covered electronic devices such as cameras, cell phones and media players, for dry cell batteries by the pound, for wet cell batteries by the battery and for microwaves. The Galena location takes no electronic waste, so call (812) 948-4733 with questions.Official guidance

What does New Albany charge for trash and large item pickup?

No curbside rate for household trash, recycling or bulky items is published on the city page or the contractor's residential page, so confirm the amount at 812-944-4018 for New Albany or 502-935-1130 for the office, and ask about the senior discount for residents 65 or older and the referral bonus. The contractor lists its annual payment discount as not available in contracted areas, which covers the city service in New Albany. The county side publishes its own prices for electronic waste, batteries, microwaves, fluorescent tubes, tires and household hazardous waste, and those amounts appear in the charge details on this page.Official guidance

What does the Floyd County recycling center accept?

Glass jars and bottles of any color, aluminum and steel cans, foil, empty aerosol cans, paper products, cardboard, cartons, paperboard, plastics numbered 1 through 7, motor oil, electronic waste from televisions and monitors to computer towers and microwaves, batteries by the pound or the battery, fluorescent tubes and tires. Household hazardous waste comes only on the second Saturday from April through October, and appliances, air conditioners, yard waste, construction debris and wood, styrofoam and propane tanks are refused.Official guidance

How should I prepare a load for the county center?

Skip the bag, because the district asks residents not to put recycling in a grocery or garbage bag, and rinse bottles, cans, containers and jars and keep the lids attached. Flatten cardboard and keep plastic packing materials out of it, separate types of batteries, bring hazardous material in its original labelled container, and arrive before the bins are locked at 5 p.m.Official guidance
