Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

Remodeling and construction debris

Not on the regular city route

Loose lumber is named as construction material and is not collected during weekly curbside service. The city directs construction waste to the Johnson County Landfill, and the county FAQ also names two construction and demolition landfills, so a renovation load is a self-haul rather than a pickup.

City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no construction rate, because the weekly service does not take the material. The Johnson County Landfill and the two construction and demolition landfills each set their own load pricing, so confirm the load and the tipping charge with the site before hauling.
When & how
Haul the material to the Johnson County Landfill at 17955 Holliday Drive in Shawnee, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or to one of the construction and demolition landfills the county FAQ names, APAC-KS Stanley in Overland Park or Asphalt Sales Company in Olathe.
Get it ready
Separate construction material from household trash, because loose lumber is not collected curbside and the recycling cart does not take it either. Keep treated, painted and regulated material out of the yard waste stream, since the city takes only leaves, grass, limbs and similar material there.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

The weekly truck is a cart service, not a bulk pickup

Loose trash is not collected, and the city publishes no standing appointment for a pile at the curb. The rule that does exist for a large item is for a mattress, which goes out wrapped in plastic, and rugs, which go out rolled and tied at no more than 4 feet long and 50 pounds. Loose lumber is treated as construction material and is refused, so the pile that a household clears out of a garage has to go to an event or a hauler rather than to the curb.

Waste Management under contract with the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, with the Wyandotte County Recycling & Yard Waste Center and the Unified Government Dumpster Days events

Haul construction material to a landfill

A household with lumber, renovation debris or a demolition load that the weekly curbside service will not take.

Cost & conditions
The city publishes no construction rate, because weekly collection does not take the material. The Johnson County Landfill and the two construction and demolition landfills set their own load pricing, so confirm the load and the tipping charge with the site before hauling.
Arrange it
Take the load to the Johnson County Landfill at 17955 Holliday Drive in Shawnee, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or to APAC-KS Stanley at 7100 W. 167th Street in Overland Park or Asphalt Sales Company at 23200 W. 159th Street in Olathe, which the county FAQ names for construction and demolition debris.

These sites take construction and demolition material rather than household trash or recyclables, and each sets its own accepted list and load pricing. Keep treated, painted and regulated material out of the yard waste stream, where the city takes only leaves, grass, limbs and similar material.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Kansas City.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Kansas City?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Kansas City?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Can I put construction debris out for collection?

No. The city treats loose lumber as construction material and does not collect it during weekly curbside service, and construction waste is directed to the Johnson County Landfill at 17955 Holliday Drive in Shawnee, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The county FAQ also names two construction and demolition landfills for renovation loads.Official guidance

Who collects trash in Kansas City, Kansas?

Waste Management collects it under a contract with the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, managed by the Public Works solid waste team. Trash and recycling run on the same weekly day, the set-out window opens at 4 p.m. the day before until 7 a.m. on collection day, and the 2026 monthly charge for the pair is billed to the household. A building of five or more units is different, because collection there is handled by the property owner or manager rather than by the city contract.Official guidance
