Book the unwanted bags and boxes left after packing. Choose an available pickup day before you hand back the keys, and arrange to have them outside.
You do not need a whole house of junk. Select the bags, boxes and larger items you actually have. Your combined price is shown online.

A few simple choices turn a mixed pile into a clear booking. No need to estimate how much of a truck it might fill.
Count each trash bag or filled household box. Books and media go by the box. Clothes, bedding and shoes go by the filled bag. Toys packed together have a Box of toys choice. Ask us about unusually heavy or oversized bags and boxes first.
Empty cardboard is a different choice: choose single empty boxes or tied bundles of 10 flattened boxes. Compacted bales have their own weight-based choices and require loading-dock access. A Storage bin choice covers the empty bin itself; ask us to confirm the contents if they are going too.
Add the actual larger item alongside your bags and boxes, such as a sofa, chair or mattress. It has its own price and preparation. Keep construction materials and items needing special handling out of ordinary household bags.

The town collects bulky household items by appointment through USA Waste and Recycling, priced one item at a time from a published list rather than by volume or weight.
Couches, sectionals, sleepers, recliners, dressers, tables, bookcases and bed frames are collected through the by-appointment bulk program at a published price for each piece.
Agawam's bulk page states that mattresses left the town's curbside waste stream in November 2022 and lists recycling routes instead, while the current 2026 bulk list still prices a mattress or box spring, so the route should be confirmed before booking.
Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, kitchen stoves and water heaters all appear on the town's 2026 bulk list at a published rate for each appliance.
Agawam does not send electronics through the curbside bulk pile. The town points residents to Gold Circuit E-Cycling on Silver Street, which takes televisions, monitors, computers, printers, small kitchen electronics and audio gear directly from the public.
Metal household items that appear on the town's list, including grills, metal file cabinets and metal appliances, are collected through the bulk appointment at a published rate for each item.
Tires are named on Agawam's exclusions from curbside bulk collection.
Construction and demolition debris is excluded from the Agawam bulk program and much of it also falls under the state waste bans.
The handoff matters
Bulk items go on the tree belt on the appointment day and have to be out by 6:30 a.m. Everything collected has to originate from the household it is collected from, so a neighbor's items or a contractor's leftovers cannot be added to the pile.
