Get it ready
Leaves and grass go in yard waste paper bags, because plastic bags are left at the curb, and branches are bundled no longer than four feet and no heavier than 50 pounds in paper bags or open top barrels tied with natural fibre string. Christmas trees are collected one week a year on the regular trash day and are refused if they are wrapped in plastic or still decorated.
Carts go out no earlier than 12 hours before collection with the serial numbers facing the street, keep three feet of space between carts, and come back inside the building within 12 hours after collection. Carts are never placed behind cars, poles or signs, the lid has to close, and hazardous waste, recycling and large amounts of liquid such as paint never go in the trash cart.
