When a 2026 holiday falls on a collection day, trash and recycling are delayed by one day for the remainder of that week, and the city buildings close. The 2026 list includes New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Patriots Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, while Saturday July 4 is listed with no delay.

Rinse containers and put them loose in the recycling barrel rather than inside plastic bags, and put paper and cardboard in a paper bag or a box. A household replacing a refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove, hot water heater, air conditioner, dehumidifier, microwave, lawnmower, snowblower or gas grill, or retiring a television, monitor or computer unit.
