Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Text us about your setup
  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and other electronics

Accepted with preparation

Electronics such as televisions, monitors, computers, laptops and printers are accepted in the county bulk collection, and household electronics are also accepted for recycling at all three drop-off centers.

City cost & eligibility
No charge. Baltimore County households, inside the two scheduled bulk collections a year of up to three items each or at any drop-off center within the annual ten-visit allowance.
When & how
Either include the device in a scheduled bulk collection or drop it at the Central Acceptance Facility in Cockeysville, the Western Acceptance Facility in Halethorpe or the Eastern Sanitary Landfill in White Marsh during open hours.
Get it ready
Keep devices dry, bring the cables if you have them, and count each large item against the three-item bulk limit. Small appliances, audio equipment, cell and landline phones, printers, scanners, copiers, cameras, cables, drones and computer parts are on the drop-off electronics list, and the county asks residents to check a manufacturer take-back or donation program first when the device still works.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Recyclables go out loose, never in plastic bags

Single stream recyclables are mixed together in one container: a blue bin, a can marked RECYCLE, a small cardboard box whose contents go with it, or a paper bag or bundle tied with non-plastic string for paper and cardboard. No plastic bag of any type or colour may be used to set out recyclables, even one sold as a recycling or compostable bag.

Bulk items follow the assigned address dates

The county assigns each single-family home and town home two bulk collection dates a year and mails them, so no request is needed. If a collection is cancelled for weather, the make-up is usually the next business day, and the county posts collection status for residents to check.

Baltimore County Bureau of Solid Waste Management

Carry it to a county drop-off center

Household bulk items, furniture, appliances, electronics, recyclables, yard material and household hazardous waste from a Baltimore County home.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Baltimore County residents, free of charge for up to ten visits a year across the three facilities. After ten visits the material has to go to the Eastern Sanitary Landfill, where a prorated tonnage fee applies.
Arrange it
Load the vehicle yourself and unload at the facility; the county states that attendants do not help unload bulk items. Bring the material during opening hours, and remember that no vehicle is admitted to the Eastern Sanitary Landfill after 3:15 p.m.

The three centers keep different hours and take different hazardous waste lists. Household paints are limited to 20 gallons per visit at the Central Acceptance Facility, and fluorescent bulbs are limited to 10 per delivery per day.

Look up the assigned bulk collection dates

The two scheduled bulk collections a year that come with a single-family home or town home inside Baltimore County.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Single-family homes and town homes inside Baltimore County boundaries, with no request call needed.
Arrange it
Use the mailer sent to the address, or look up the next scheduled bulk collection date posted for the year, and contact the Bureau of Solid Waste Management at 410-887-2000 or solidwaste@baltimorecountymd.gov if the dates cannot be found.

Three items per collection, nothing longer than eight feet, and no item that is still assembled.

Donate or reuse what still works

Usable appliances, beds, building materials, furniture, rugs and electronics that a charity or reuse organisation will take.

Cost & conditions
Donation is arranged directly with the receiving organisation, so any condition, pickup or drop-off terms come from that organisation rather than from the county.
Arrange it
Check the county's Reuse Directory for organisations that accept the item, and contact the organisation before delivering it.

Organisations set their own acceptance rules and condition requirements, and the county does not mediate the donation.
