Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.
Toilets
Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.
Bathroom vanities
Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

City cost & eligibility
Dakota Area Transfer publishes 2026 construction and demolition rates of $40 for a small car, $60 for a van or pickup, $68 per ton and a $95 minimum for a truck with a trailer, with the state construction waste tax added. Freeway Transfer publishes no list and quotes by phone.
When & how
Call a transfer station or landfill for current hours, rates and load limits, then deliver the load yourself or hire a hauler. County guidance lists the permitted facilities and asks residents to call first.
Get it ready
Keep hazardous waste, liquids, paint and asbestos out of the load, and separate concrete, wood and metal where the facility asks. Cover the load for transport.
For a transfer station or the Recycling Zone, load the items yourself and check the current hours before you leave. At the Recycling Zone, stay in the vehicle and keep everything except sharps in the trunk or the very back so staff can unload it, and have proof of residency ready. Facilities price a load by item, weight or vehicle type, so ask before you drive.

Ask the property manager how the building handles a large item and whether the shared hauler will take it. Multi-unit and commercial hauling is licensed separately from the household list.
Do not put a large item out under the single-family collection rules without confirming the building arrangement. Buildings with four or more attached units and a shared contract must meet the county recycling requirements instead.
Eagan collects no garbage of its own, so a self-haul trip is a normal route for a large item. The Dakota County Recycling Zone at 3365 Dodd Road in Eagan takes electronics, tires and household hazardous waste, but it does not take appliances, furniture, mattresses or exercise equipment.
