Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  1. Arrange any unmounting first.

Dropcurb does not remove TVs from walls or do indoor carrying. Arrange the help you need before pickup day, including the trip down interior stairs or through an elevator.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

  3. Show us the TV that is going.

Add a location photo and access notes after booking. Follow the readiness instructions in your confirmation. For exposed broken glass or unusual damage, send a photo and check with us before booking.

Televisions, computers and electronic waste

Special rules apply

The city publishes no curbside electronics route, and the local network is split: Staples takes tech recycling free year round, Batteries and Bulbs charges a fee for portable electronics and batteries, and Pacific Steel takes electronic scrap except CRTs and flat screens.

City cost & eligibility
Staples is listed as a free tech recycling drop-off, Batteries and Bulbs charges a fee to recycle, and Pacific Steel does not accept CRTs or flat screens, so a television or monitor has to be confirmed with a recycler before it is dropped off.
When & how
Drop-offs follow each store's own published hours, and the city operates no curbside electronics collection.
Get it ready
Wipe personal data before handover, keep the device whole, remove any battery that the receiving store asks for, and call first about a television or monitor because the local electronic scrap route excludes CRTs and flat screens.
City recycling page listing the local drop-off network with addresses, hours and accepted materials, including Staples free tech recycling, Batteries and Bulbs with a fee, Breen Oil for propane, Pacific Steel for scrap metal and appliances with electronic scrap except CRTs and flat screens, Steel Etc. with a Freon removal cost, Republic Services curbside recycling, the High Plains Landfill yard waste hours and load securing fine, and the reusable goods charities

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Great Falls collects everything curbside, so self haul starts with the things the city will not take. Yard waste can be bagged at the curb or driven to the High Plains Landfill at 142 Powerline Road in Floweree, which is open Monday to Friday from 7 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 7 am to 3:30 pm and can impose a 10.00 fine on an unsecured load. Household chemicals wait for the Hazardous Waste Collection Day that the city runs with Veolia, with the next event in the spring of 2027 at the corner of 1st St. S and 3rd Ave. S, where antifreeze, gasoline, paint thinner, shellac, fertilizer, pesticides and cleaners are taken but latex paint and mercury are not, and where the truck may fill before the event closes. Propane bottles go to Breen Oil Company on 2201 NW Bypass free of charge, and latex paint can be dried with kitty litter or sand, bagged and put in the regular garbage container. Electronics and metals go to the local network: Staples for free tech recycling, Batteries and Bulbs for batteries and portable devices at a fee, Pacific Steel and Steel Etc. for metals and appliances, with Freon evacuated first and no CRTs or flat screens accepted at the metal yards. A construction or remodel load goes in a city drop box priced per pick-up, not in the residential container. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Great Falls.

How much does TV removal cost in Great Falls?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Great Falls?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where can a Great Falls household take a television?

Not on the curbside route, because the city operates no electronics collection. Staples at 207 NW Bypass offers free tech recycling year round, and Batteries and Bulbs at 900 10th Ave. S takes portable electronics and batteries for a fee, but Pacific Steel does not accept CRTs or flat screens, so call a recycler before hauling a television or monitor over.Official guidance
