Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Use a permitted outdoor spot with a clear path. Add a location photo and notes on your order page so the right entrance and the right items are easy to identify.

Construction and remodeling debris

Special rules apply

Material from work a resident does can go out as bulky collection if it is cut small, but anything a contractor produces has to be removed by that contractor. The city landfill takes residential and commercial waste by weight and publishes no demolition category.

City cost & eligibility
No construction rate is published. Resident lumber rides the bulky collection, and a load taken to Kersey Valley Landfill is billed at $48 per ton plus a $2 per ton state tax, with a $7.50 minimum for a pickup, SUV or trailer and a $2 minimum for a car, so confirm the load and the classification on 336-883-3435.
When & how
Small resident material goes out with the bulky collection on your recycling day. A larger load goes to the landfill between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and a contractor-managed project arranges its own disposal.
Get it ready
Cut resident lumber to pieces no longer than 8 feet and keep it separate from the rest of the pile. Keep paint, chemicals, batteries, motor oil, antifreeze and other liquid hazardous material out of a landfill load, because the landfill refuses them.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

High Point residents have four self-haul routes that cover most of what a curbside cart cannot take. Appliances, mattresses and other bulky items can go to the Kersey Valley Landfill white goods and bulky drop-off during its weekday hours, billed by weight. Televisions, computers and other electronics go free to the Material Recovery Facility in Jamestown or the unstaffed trailer at Ingleside. Paint, chemicals, batteries and tires wait for a household hazardous waste event at 1401 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive or go to the Guilford County center on Patterson Avenue in Greensboro, and the county's Bishop Road facility takes scrap metal and white goods. Hours and event dates change, so call before you load. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in High Point.

How much does construction debris removal cost in High Point?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in High Point?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Who disposes of debris from a contractor's job?

The contractor. The city states that any waste generated by a contractor must be removed and disposed of by that contractor, while a resident's own project material can go out as bulky items when the lumber is cut to 8 feet or less. Larger loads go to Kersey Valley Landfill by weight.Official guidance

Where can I look up an item the city will not collect?

The city's Where do I take... guide lists the Material Recovery Facility, Kersey Valley Landfill, the Ingleside compost site and the household hazardous waste events with what each one accepts. Confirm the item and the hours with Customer Service on 336-883-3111 before you load the vehicle.Official guidance
