Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

A treadmill, elliptical or weight machine is not named on the town's accepted list or its refused list. It reads as bulky household goods, so confirm the machine with the hauler before it goes out, and the county landfill takes bulky items by the load.
City cost & eligibility
The town publishes no item rule for exercise equipment and no bulky fee, and the county prints per-load rates for household loads without a separate bulky item rate. Confirm the machine with Waste Connections and confirm the load category with the landfill before the unit is moved.
When & how
The town's bulk days fall in February, May, August and November, and the landfill is open Monday to Friday and on Saturday morning when the next bulk day is too far off.
Get it ready
Take the machine down only as far as is safe, describe the size and weight when calling, and keep it out of the household trash cans. A machine with a motor, a belt or an electronic console is worth describing in full so the hauler can decide whether it belongs in the bulk pile at all.
Bulk pickup runs four times a year on your recycling day
Bulk and e-waste pickup happens in February, May, August and November, on the regular recycling day for the address, and the colour week comes from the subdivision recycling list. Everything has to be curbside by 7 a.m. that day, nothing is scheduled in advance, and the town asks households to call 704-821-5401 within 48 hours if the truck misses the pile.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Four collections a year only, five bulk items per household, no loose trash, clothing or small toys, no extra bags of household trash and no contractor or significant renovation debris. Paint, tires and rims, batteries, construction material, hazardous waste, dirt, concrete, drywall, roofing, pallets and yard waste are all refused at the curb.

Closed on seven published holidays, and large loads of cardboard are only taken on weekdays. A load that is not secured is charged twice the normal fee. Hazardous chemicals, paint and gasoline are not taken at the landfill and wait for the county's annual household hazardous waste event.
Mattresses, furniture and other bulky items, bagged household garbage, construction and demolition waste, yard waste, used motor oil and antifreeze for residents with a five gallon limit, used oil filters, electronics, white goods such as refrigerators, washers and dryers, tires off the rim, scrap metal, household recycling and cardboard.
Tires have to be off the rim and every load has to be covered, because an unsecured load is charged twice the normal fee. Large loads of cardboard are only accepted on weekdays. The published per-load rates cover garbage, construction and demolition debris and yard waste, and the county prints no separate rate for mattresses, white goods, tires or scrap metal.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.
Will Indian Trail pick up a treadmill?+
