Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.
Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?
Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.
An exercise bike, elliptical or rower
Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.
Weights, racks and benches
Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

$10 for for a scheduled bulky pickup covering up to two items, with each additional item at five dollars and payment taken in advance. Salisbury residents who book and pay by 2:30 p.m. the day before the collection day; exercise equipment is also accepted at no charge during a Spruce Up Week.
When & how
Schedule and pay with Public Works the day before at the latest, then put the machine at the curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day.
Get it ready
Take the machine apart as far as it comes apart, keep the frame, deck and console parts together, tape loose cables, and keep it away from the cart, mailbox and poles so the bulky truck can reach it.
Anything outside the city cart is a booked bulky item
The city treats every item left outside its issued cart as bulky, so a piece of furniture or a bagged load needs a scheduled pickup and prepayment before 2:30 p.m. the day before the collection day. A separate truck handles the bulky stop on the same day as the normal collection, and the fee schedule covers up to two items with extra charges for additional items and for each extra bag or box. Bookings taken after the cut off wait a week.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.

Book a bulky item pickup for your collection day
A Salisbury household with furniture, a mattress, an appliance, exercise equipment or extra bagged household material that will not fit the city cart.
Cost & conditions
$10 for for a scheduled bulky pickup covering up to two items, with each additional item at five dollars and each extra bag or box at two dollars fifty, paid in advance. Salisbury residents who schedule and pay by 2:30 p.m. the day before the collection day, at the Public Works Administration Building or by phone, using Visa or MasterCard.

Call (704) 638-5260 option 5, option 1, option 5, or visit 303 W Franklin Street between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on a weekday to book and pay, then put the items at the curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day.
Payment must clear before the pickup, bookings after the 2:30 p.m. cut off slip to the next week, a different truck collects the load, and tires, batteries, building material, paint and electronics cannot be included at any price.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Free to residents living inside the city limits of Salisbury during the four Spruce Up Weeks each year, with no businesses eligible and items at the curb before 7 a.m. on the regular collection day.
Arrange it
Put the accepted items at the curb on your regular collection day during the week, and leave tires without rims at the curb afterwards, because they are collected the following Monday. The 2026 rounds are January 5 to 9, April 6 to 10, July 13 to 17 and October 5 to 9.
The programme is for city residents only, the same refused list applies, including building material and electronics, tires are capped at five without rims per location, and the dates are set annually so the next round has to be confirmed on the city page.

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.
Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?+
Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.
How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?+
Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.

Who collects trash in Salisbury?+
The city does, through the Public Works Department and its Public Services division. Garbage goes in the green city cart the household is issued, recycling goes in a blue cart the city bought from Republic Services and marks with a City of Salisbury seal, and yard waste goes out the same day.
