The project is done. Get your space back.

The new bathroom is ready, but the old vanity is still outside. A replaced door is taking up space you need. Put those leftover items on a pickup plan, with the price settled and updates through the final haul-away.

Match your item

Construction cleanup starts with the right items.

We currently accept the doors, toilets and bathroom vanities listed here, already detached and ready outside. Choose each item separately. Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted, including in bags.

Doors

Count each detached door panel separately. Have it removed from its hinges before pickup. A whole installed doorway or garage door is not the same item.

Toilets

Choose Toilet for an ordinary household toilet that has already been disconnected, drained and moved outside. Text a photo before booking if yours is broken or has loose sharp pieces.

Bathroom vanities

Choose the small, standard or large bathroom vanity that matches your sink cabinet. A makeup table has a separate choice. Plumbing disconnection and removal from the wall happen before pickup.

  1. Arrange the removal work

Have the fixture safely detached and any plumbing or electrical connections handled by an appropriate professional. We do not remove installed fixtures or perform demolition.

  2. Keep the booked items separate

Have the fixtures empty and ready at ground level. Keep them apart from rubble, loose renovation materials, tools and anything you want to keep.

  3. Show the outdoor handoff

Use a permitted outdoor spot with a clear path. Add a location photo and notes on your order page so the right entrance and the right items are easy to identify.

Construction and demolition material

Not on the regular city route

Construction material, cement, lumber and wood are refused on the bulky cleanup and no city construction collection is published.

City cost & eligibility
The city lists construction materials, cement and lumber or wood among the items it cannot collect on the bulky cleanup, and it publishes no residential construction collection or rate, so a project load moves through a private hauler or container company that sets its own price.
When & how
Arrange a private hauler or container before the work starts, and keep the material off the curb in the meantime.
Get it ready
Keep construction material, lumber, cement, rocks, oil drums, paint and car parts out of the bulky pile because they are refused, and keep hazardous products on the CityLink route instead.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

The bulky cleanup refuses several categories outright

The city cannot collect construction materials, car parts, cement, electronic waste, glass, hazardous or infectious waste, lumber or wood, oil drums, paint, rocks, tires or yard waste on the bulky cleanup, and a pile that is mixed with unacceptable materials is not collected at all. Bulky items are collected only during the annual neighborhood cleanup, which is for single-family homes, and outside that week the city directs residents to the Hanes Mill Road Landfill at 325 W Hanes Mill Rd.

With a new purchase

Arrange a private hauler for construction debris

A household or contractor with construction material, cement, lumber or another item the city cannot collect.

Cost & conditions
The city refuses construction material, cement and lumber or wood on the bulky cleanup and publishes no residential construction collection or rate, so a private hauler or container company quotes its own price and confirms the receiving site.
Arrange it
Contact a private hauler or container company serving Winston-Salem and confirm where the material goes and what it costs before the work produces debris.

Construction material cannot go in the carts or on the cleanup pile, and hazardous products such as paint and oil still go on the CityLink route instead.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Winston-Salem serves single-family households with weekly garbage in a city 96 gallon cart, recycling on the published red and blue weeks, yard waste carts, brush collection and fall leaf routes, plus one annual neighborhood bulky item cleanup. All garbage has to be bagged inside the cart with the lid closed and nothing sits outside the cart, carts go to the curb by 6 a.m. on the collection day and come back by 8 a.m. the next day, and the Winston-Salem Collects app gives the address schedule. Bulky items such as carpet, appliances, furniture, mattresses and toys are collected only during the annual cleanup, which runs on published 2026 weeks and is for single-family homes, and outside that week the city directs residents to the Hanes Mill Road Landfill at 325 W Hanes Mill Rd., open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon. Electronic waste, hazardous or infectious waste, construction material, tires, paint, glass, cement, lumber, rocks and yard waste are refused on the cleanup, while electronics and household hazardous waste go free to the 3RC EnviroStation for Forsyth County residents, with proof of residency, a short form and a limit of two televisions a household each year, and CityLink at 336-727-8000 or 311 confirms the current site details. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Construction debris removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Winston-Salem.

How much does construction debris removal cost in Winston-Salem?

Pricing is per accepted item. A detached door is $99 as a single item, an ordinary toilet is $79, and a small bathroom vanity is $99. Larger vanities have their own choices. Select the listed items to see the exact combined price. These prices do not cover mixed rubble or loose building materials. Loading, transportation and disposal are included; applicable sales tax appears before payment.

Can I get same-day toilet or vanity pickup in Winston-Salem?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup, where available. Checkout shows the dates you can choose. Arrange disconnection, removal and the move outside first, then have the fixture ready by the time in your confirmation. We text you before arrival and provide pickup photos when it is done.

Will you disconnect a sink or take a door off its hinges?

The fixture must already be detached, disconnected and accessible outside at ground level. Arrange plumbing, electrical work, removal from walls or hinges, and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb handles loading and haul-away from your outdoor pickup spot.

Can I add bags of drywall, tile or other demolition waste?

Mixed drywall, tile, concrete, lumber and demolition rubble are not accepted. This page offers pickup for the listed doors, toilets and bathroom vanities that are already removed. Do not book loose building materials as household trash bags or as an extra item. Arrange suitable disposal for those materials with your contractor or a debris specialist.

Can a door, toilet and vanity go in the same pickup?

Yes. Add each listed fixture separately and choose the correct vanity size. Each detached door panel counts as one item. The combined price appears before you book. Keep the fixtures together outside, separate from anything staying, and add a location photo on your order page.

Will Winston-Salem take construction debris?

No. The city lists construction materials, cement and lumber or wood among the items it cannot collect on the bulky cleanup, and it publishes no residential construction collection or rate. A project load goes with a private hauler or container company, and hazardous products stay on the CityLink route.Official guidance
