The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.
Flat-screen TVs
Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.
Tube TVs
An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.
TV stands and other electronics
The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

When & how
Take the devices to the Clean Community System at 3661 Sky Park Rd 2B Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or use the special events the system runs for older tube televisions.
Get it ready
Back up or erase personal data before handover, take out any battery you can remove because the facility refuses batteries, keep the device out of the recycling toter, and keep broken tubes and bulbs out of the load.
The Clean Community System stopped offering free television recycling, limits drop offs to two televisions per day per residence and prices sets by weight, and the community guide lists Best Buy and Computer Hardware as alternatives with their own limits.

Take the material to the Grand Island Area Clean Community System at 3661 Sky Park Rd 2B, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and call (308) 385-5095 with questions.
Batteries, large appliances, propane and butane containers, and commercial, industrial, medical, agricultural, trash and construction material are refused, everything has to arrive in its original container, and the facility is closed on Saturday.
Household hazardous waste including acids, adhesives, aerosol cans, antifreeze, brake fluid, cleaners, fertilizers, fluorescent and CFL bulbs, gasoline, motor oil, mercury, mothballs, paints and strippers, pesticides, pool and spa chemicals, thermostats, transmission fluid, wood preservatives and wood stains, plus televisions and electronics during open hours and special events for older tube televisions, and usable products through the free Swap Shop.
Batteries, large appliances, compressed butane containers and propane tanks, and commercial, industrial, institutional, medical, agricultural, veterinary, trash or construction material are refused, household hazardous waste must be in its original container with solids and liquids kept apart, mercury has to be called in first, fluorescent tubes must not be taped together, broken tubes and bulbs are refused, and television drop offs are limited to two per day per residence with a fee by weight.

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

The Clean Community System no longer recycles televisions free of charge.
