A new use for the same space, once the old machine is outside and gone.

Room for what comes next

Your space can have a new purpose.

A home office. Room for a guest. A little more floor to enjoy. When an old machine is in the way, a clear pickup plan makes the next step easier.

The room is changing.

Book the equipment you are ready to let go of, whether it is one exercise bike or several machines. See the total before making the plan.

A replacement is coming.

Check whether your retailer includes removal. If the old treadmill is still your responsibility, give it a pickup day of its own.

It is not making the move.

Settle the price online, arrange to have it outside, and follow the pickup through text updates and completion photos. One less thing to coordinate before the keys change hands.

Match the machine

The right choice covers the right equipment.

Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.

Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?

Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.

An exercise bike, elliptical or rower

Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.

Weights, racks and benches

Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Ready for pickup

Plan the move outside before pickup day.

A machine can be too heavy or awkward for a solo move. Arrange suitable help for indoor carrying, stairs or any dismantling needed to reach the outdoor pickup spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Your place. One easy pickup plan.

  2. Book a day you can be ready.

Exercise equipment

Special rules apply

No Nashua page names a treadmill or weight machine, so the machine has to be cleared with the Solid Waste Department before it goes out or over the scale.

City cost & eligibility
The city publishes no exercise machine rate, and the two possible routes are priced differently: an accepted machine would count as one of the five free oversized items each year and cost the published per item charge after that, while an item dropped at the center is priced by its category, so confirm the route with the Solid Waste Department at 603-589-3410 before moving the machine.
When & how
Call the Solid Waste Department at 603-589-3410 and describe the machine. If it is accepted as an oversized item it is booked by Friday afternoon for the following week and set out by 6:45 a.m. on the collection day; otherwise the department directs the trip.
Get it ready
Fold or break the machine down as far as the manufacturer allows, take the battery or console off so it can be handled as electronics, and keep the frame out of the city trash cart and the recycling bins.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

A curbside item has to be on the week's list

Oversized items are collected only on an appointment, so a couch, mattress, appliance, tire or brush bundle is added to the following week's list by a call to 603-589-3410 or through the oversize item form, submitted by Friday afternoon. Metal items go out by 6:45 a.m. Monday and non-metal items by 6:45 a.m. on the trash day, and everything stays at the curb until the truck reaches it. There are no pickups between mid-October and mid-spring.

City of Nashua Division of Public Works, Solid Waste Department, with the Four Hills Landfill and Nashua Recycling Center

Book the city special collection for an oversized item

A Nashua household with a couch, mattress, appliance, hot water heater, bundle of brush or set of tires that will not fit the city cart.

Cost & conditions
No city page names an exercise machine, so confirm with the Solid Waste Department at 603-589-3410 whether the machine can be added to the special collection list; if it is accepted it counts as one oversized item, with the first five items each year collected at no charge and later items charged each.
Arrange it
Call the Solid Waste Department at 603-589-3410 or fill in the oversize item form by Friday afternoon for the following week's list, then leave the items at the curb until they are collected. The season runs from mid-spring to the end of October, with metal items out by 6:45 a.m. Monday and non-metal items out by 6:45 a.m. on the trash day.

The machine has to be accepted onto the week's list first, it is booked by Friday afternoon for the following week, it has to be out by 6:45 a.m. on the collection day, and the season closes between mid-October and mid-spring.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self hauling in Nashua means one site with two jobs. The Four Hills Landfill and the Nashua Recycling Center sit together at 840 West Hollis Street, open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the scale shutting off 30 minutes before closing. A residential permit is bought at the scale house against the vehicle registration and is waived for residents 65 and older, and household trash, recyclables, brush, soft yard waste, scrap metal, appliances and refrigerant appliances carry no charge. Electronics, including televisions, monitors, printers, VCRs and DVD players, are electronic items that go over the scale, with the first two each year free and later items charged each. Tires come off the rim with the first four each year free and later tires charged each, and no commercial tires are taken. Construction and demolition debris is weighed and charged by the ton, with the state charge included from February 1, 2026, and asbestos from a home has to be pre-approved. Paint, gasoline, cleaners, pesticides, pool chemicals, antifreeze and sharps are refused at the site, so they wait for a household hazardous waste collection day, while latex paint is dried solid and dropped in the landfill trash box and lithium batteries go to a retail collection box. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Exercise equipment removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Nashua.

How much does exercise equipment removal cost in Nashua?

A household treadmill is $159 as the first item and $85 additional. An elliptical is $159 first and $85 additional; an exercise bike is $119 first and $40 additional. Choose all your items to see the combined price. Loading, transportation and disposal are included, with any applicable sales tax shown before payment.

Can you pick up a treadmill or exercise bike today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.

Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.

How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?

Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.

Will Nashua take a treadmill?

No city page names a treadmill, elliptical or weight machine, so call the Solid Waste Department at 603-589-3410 first and describe the machine. If it is accepted it counts as one oversized item, which means a Friday afternoon booking for the following week and a 6:45 a.m. set-out on the collection day while the season is open, and the first five oversized items each year are collected at no charge. Any battery or console comes off and goes with the electronics.Official guidance

When can I put a couch or mattress out for collection in Nashua?

Between mid-spring and the end of October, and only after it is on the week's list. There are no pickups between mid-October and mid-spring, and the first five oversized items each year are collected at no charge.Official guidance
