A new use for the same space, once the old machine is outside and gone.

Room for what comes next

Your space can have a new purpose.

A home office. Room for a guest. A little more floor to enjoy. When an old machine is in the way, a clear pickup plan makes the next step easier.

The room is changing.

Book the equipment you are ready to let go of, whether it is one exercise bike or several machines. See the total before making the plan.

A replacement is coming.

Check whether your retailer includes removal. If the old treadmill is still your responsibility, give it a pickup day of its own.

It is not making the move.

Settle the price online, arrange to have it outside, and follow the pickup through text updates and completion photos. One less thing to coordinate before the keys change hands.

Match the machine

The right choice covers the right equipment.

Choose by the type of equipment. A brand name does not mean a different item, but a walking pad and a full treadmill do.

Treadmill, walking pad or commercial model?

Household treadmill includes folding home models with a tall console. Choose Walking pad for a compact under-desk model, or Commercial treadmill for a large gym machine. All equipment opens those choices.

An exercise bike, elliptical or rower

Spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes all use Exercise bike, including Peloton and other brands. One elliptical includes its connected base, handles and pedals. Rowing machines and Pilates reformers have their own choices.

Weights, racks and benches

Add together the pounds of loose dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Free weights are priced in 10 lb units, rounding the combined weight up. For example, 25 lb uses three units. Add a stand, rack or bench separately if it is going too.

Ready for pickup

Plan the move outside before pickup day.

A machine can be too heavy or awkward for a solo move. Arrange suitable help for indoor carrying, stairs or any dismantling needed to reach the outdoor pickup spot.

A pickup day is not an exact arrival window. Tell us before booking about a shared loading area, restricted outdoor access or equipment whose size or setup you are unsure how to select.

Exercise equipment

Special rules apply

No Roswell page names exercise equipment, and the bundle limits the city sets for bulky material are firm at four feet and 50 pounds. A treadmill or a weight machine has to be broken down to fit that rule before it can join the grapple truck list, so the department should be asked before a frame that cannot be reduced is set out.

City cost & eligibility
From $37.27 per grapple truck bulk collection, billed by load size at a quarter truckload or less, with half a truckload listed at $78.88 and a full truckload at $149.12, and the same sheet printing tax-inclusive totals of $39.13, $82.82 and $156.58. City of Roswell residential accounts billed on the monthly City water bill under the sheet effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027; the load has to meet the ordinance bundle limits, so confirm on 575-624-6746 that your broken-down machine will be collected before it goes out.
When & how
Call 575-624-6746 to add the equipment to the grapple truck list, describe what the machine breaks down into, and set it out behind your own property line for the Wednesday or Saturday run.
Get it ready
Take the machine apart as far as it will go, tie or tape the pieces into bundles no longer than four feet and no heavier than 50 pounds, remove the loose weights and accessories, and keep everything off the alley path, utility lines and manhole covers.

Containers out before 5 a.m.

Curbside roll-outs go to the curb or the front of the driveway before 5 a.m. on the pickup day and no more than 12 hours early, facing the street and clear of obstacles. Alley containers are shared by up to four households, face the inside of the alley, have to stay upright, and may only be moved by a sanitation worker. Anything left beside a container stays there unless it is on the grapple truck list.

City of Roswell Solid Waste Department

Request the city grapple truck

A household with a couch, a mattress, an appliance or another large item that can be broken down to the city's bundle limits.

Cost & conditions
From $37.27 per grapple truck bulk collection, billed by load size at a quarter truckload or less, with half a truckload listed at $78.88 and a full truckload at $149.12, and the same sheet printing tax-inclusive totals of $39.13, $82.82 and $156.58. City of Roswell residential accounts billed on the monthly City water bill under the sheet effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027; confirm the amount on 575-624-6746 when the pickup is requested.
Arrange it
Call the Solid Waste Department on 575-624-6746 or leave your name, phone number and the address where the item sits, then set the load just outside the rear fence or along the alley for the Wednesday or Saturday run.

The department works the list as staffing and time allow, so a request may not be collected the same week it is made, the pieces have to meet the four foot and 50 pound bundle rule, and there is no published curbside route for electronics or for household chemicals.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Roswell households do most of their own hauling to the Roswell Municipal Landfill at 3006 W Brasher Road, which serves Roswell and Chaves County and charges by weight and material at the scale, with one residential load a month waived for a water customer who brings a current bill and identification. The same site runs free recycling containers for cardboard, aluminum cans and tin cans, checked in at the weight station, and it takes tires, e-waste and refrigerators on their own fee lines, so those loads have to be kept separate from the free drop. For metal, the city names Roswell Recycling Center on East Poe Street, which also buys the cans collected at the landfill. Electronics go to Roswell Phone and Computer Repair on North Main Street, Oasis Computers on North Garden Avenue or the Target store on North Main Street, because the landfill has no designated electronics drop-off program, and small batteries, glass, plastic bags and cellphones are accepted at that same store while lithium batteries wait at The Home Depot. Fluorescent bulbs go to J&G Electric on South Main Street for a fee, used motor oil goes to the quick lube shop the landfill names on North Main Street, and plastic bags can go back to Albertsons Market. Everything should be tarped on the way in, and nothing on the landfill's prohibited list, including commercial hazardous material and bulk liquids, should be loaded at all. No commercial hazardous materials or bulk liquids; chemicals from commercial and industrial businesses, explosives and bullets, highly flammable or toxic substances, paint, unknown chemicals and motor oil are all on the prohibited list, with a quick lube shop named for oil instead. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

Exercise equipment removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Roswell.

How much does exercise equipment removal cost in Roswell?

A household treadmill is $159 as the first item and $85 additional. An elliptical is $159 first and $85 additional; an exercise bike is $119 first and $40 additional. Choose all your items to see the combined price. Loading, transportation and disposal are included, with any applicable sales tax shown before payment.

Can you pick up a treadmill or exercise bike today?

Book by 2pm in the pickup address’s local time for same-day pickup. Available dates appear at checkout. Have the equipment outside and accessible according to your confirmation. You receive pickup updates and completion photos; we book a day rather than an exact appointment time.

Will you dismantle my treadmill or carry it out of the basement?

Dropcurb pickup starts outside. Arrange indoor carrying, stairs and any dismantling needed to get your equipment out before pickup. Check the moving instructions for your exact model and arrange suitable help. We load and haul away the equipment from an accessible outdoor spot.

Which option covers a Peloton, spin bike or recumbent bike?

Choose Exercise bike for one stationary bike, including spin, upright, recumbent and air bikes. Peloton and other brands use the same stationary-bike choice. A treadmill, walking pad and outdoor bicycle are different items, so select their matching options.

How do I book free weights, a weight rack or a bench?

Enter the combined weight in pounds for your dumbbells, kettlebells, plates and barbells. Booking rounds that total up to the next 10 lb unit: 25 lb uses three units. Stands, racks and benches are separate items and do not include the loose weights. Add each one that is going.

How do I get rid of a treadmill in Roswell?

Break it down as far as it goes, then call the Solid Waste Department on 575-624-6746 and ask to add it to the grapple truck list, because a treadmill is too large for the containers and has to meet the city's four foot and 50 pound bundle limits. The city charges that collection by truckload.Official guidance

Who runs trash collection in Roswell?

The City of Roswell Solid Waste Department does, with free curbside roll-outs where there is curbside service and shared alley containers for up to four households where there is not. The department also runs the municipal landfill and answers program questions on 575-624-6746.Official guidance

Which days is my trash collected in Roswell?

Collection runs twice a week by half of the city: Monday and Thursday for addresses south of Alameda Street, including the RIAC, and Tuesday and Friday for addresses north of Alameda Street. Curbside containers go out before 5 a.m. and alley containers take the last bag by the same time.Official guidance

How is residential trash service billed in Roswell?

The household charge is added to the monthly City water bill, and grapple truck bulk collection is billed on the same bill by how full the truck is. The current amounts sit on the city's fee pages, and the department can confirm them on 575-624-6746 before anything large is set out.Official guidance

Which holidays change trash or landfill hours in Roswell?

The landfill closes for New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Sanitation still collects the day after Thanksgiving, and the city posts route changes for the other holidays on its Facebook page.Official guidance

Who can move an alley container in Roswell?

Only a sanitation worker. Alley containers are shared by up to four households, two on each side, they have to face the inside of the alley and stay upright, and residents are asked not to move them. Anything too large for the shared bin has to go on the grapple truck list instead.Official guidance
