The 2026 S.T.O.P. days run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the Homeowners Cleanup days 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Get it ready
Keep the device whole with its power supply and any attached cable or cord, wipe personal data before a computer, phone or drive leaves the house, and remember the complex takes computer printers and scanners only when they weigh less than 100 pounds.
Two different programs at the Old Bethpage complex
Hazardous material and e-waste go to a S.T.O.P. day, and non-hazardous debris such as tires, clean broken concrete, large metal, propane tanks, air conditioners and yard waste goes to a Homeowners Cleanup day. Both are open to households inside the town's Solid Waste Disposal District with proof of residency, and the cleanup day admits passenger cars, vans, pickups and small trailers while turning away businesses and vehicles with more than four wheels.
Use a permitted, accessible outdoor spot. Arrange the move out of your home, keep shared access clear and follow your confirmation’s readiness instructions. Check with your building about access or staging limits before booking.
A district household with paint, solvents, pesticides, gasoline, batteries, fluorescent bulbs, propane tanks, thermostats or motor oil that cannot go in the pail.
Cost & conditions
No charge. Town of Oyster Bay Solid Waste Disposal District households with proof of residency at the published S.T.O.P. dates, with the town reserving the right to limit quantities.
Arrange it
Store the material safely, load it so nothing can spill, and bring it to the Old Bethpage complex between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on a S.T.O.P. date. Latex paint, e-waste and motor oil are also taken on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
The program refuses explosives and fireworks, medical waste including needles and prescription drugs, biological or pathological waste, radioactive material and any unlabeled container, so those items have to be handled through another route.
A business, a landlord, a village outside the collection district, or a household with a load the town's limits do not cover.
Cost & conditions
No private hauling rate is published, and the town's programs are open by residency rather than by contract, so the price depends on the hauler, the material and the volume. Ask for a quote before the pile is set out and confirm that the load is going to a permitted disposal site.
Arrange it
Arrange the pickup with a licensed hauler and keep the material off the right of way until the hauler arrives, so nothing is left for the town crew to find.
