Get it ready
Cut stumps with the soil removed into pieces under 50 pounds, keep household garbage, refuse and animal waste out of the yard waste bags, and keep the bags separate from the recycling pail. Grass clippings can also stay on the lawn, which the town's grass recycling brochure recommends instead of bagging them.

Arrange it
Load a passenger car, van, pickup or small trailer and bring the load to the Old Bethpage complex on a cleanup date, which runs 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Paper shredding runs at the same dates for residents only.
The day is for non-hazardous waste only, businesses and vehicles with more than four wheels are turned away, a boat, trailer, camper or motorcycle needs proof of ownership and all fluids and batteries removed before arrival, and hazardous material has to go to a S.T.O.P. day instead.
A business, a landlord, a village outside the collection district, or a household with a load the town's limits do not cover.
