Yorktown assigns each street and participating condominium or apartment complex to a collection section. That section controls the scheduled bulk and seasonal yard-waste dates. Check the street lookup first because furniture, appliances, electronics, leaf bags and branches use different preparation and collection rules.

Use 30-gallon biodegradable paper bags for leaves. Cut branches to four feet or less, bundle and tie them for spring or summer dates. Loose branches, logs and plastic leaf bags are not collected.
Have the full set-out at the curb by 6 a.m. Monday of the scheduled collection week, keep it to about 9 by 3 by 3 feet and do not place it out more than two days before the first scheduled collection day. Separate metal, electronics and textiles for the Town's different collection vehicles.

Tree branches, logs up to 3 feet by 2 feet, leaves and grass clippings from Yorktown residents.
Yorktown residents must show proof of residency. The no-charge route is for vehicles without commercial plates. A resident using a commercial-plated vehicle, or hiring a lawn, landscaping or tree service, must buy and present the Town's one-day permit; the current fee depends on vehicle size. Logs over 3 feet by 2 feet and tree stumps are not accepted. Operations are weather permitting and close on holiday weekends and observed weekday holidays.
