Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

  2. Choose a permitted outdoor spot.

Use a stable, accessible location with a clear path for loading. Keep the TV separate from anything staying. Check building rules before placing it in a shared pickup area.

Televisions, computers and electronics

Special rules apply

Electronics are not a curbside item. The county Specialty Recycling Center takes televisions and monitors by weight with a five item limit and every other electronic item free, and the city cleanup day takes electronics at no charge.

City cost & eligibility
Televisions and monitors are charged by weight at the county center with a limit of five per visit, a bare television tube carries a flat charge on its own, and every other electronic item is free there, including computer systems, stereo equipment, VCRs and DVD players. The city's Community Clean Up Day takes electronics at no charge. Confirm the rate for the exact item before loading.
When & how
Use the county center on a Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon, or wait for the free city Community Clean Up Day on Saturday October 10 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Get it ready
Keep televisions, monitors, computers and cords out of the green garbage cart and out of the recycling, which takes household waste and nothing else. Wipe personal data from computers and drives before handover, and keep the item count within the five per visit limit.

Use the green cart and keep the lid line clear

Every single-family residence gets a 96 gallon green cart with a blue lid, and it has to be beside the street rather than in it by 7 a.m. on the collection day, with the handles facing the residence and nothing extending above the rim. Paper bags, cardboard boxes, recycle bins and oil drums cannot be used as garbage containers. Used oil, paint, insecticides, chemicals, automotive parts, batteries, tires, medical waste including needles and syringes, and hazardous waste are refused at the cart.

Plan the county trip for a Thursday or the first Saturday

The Clark County Specialty Recycling Center at 1620 W Main St opens Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the first Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon, moving to the second Saturday when the first Saturday falls on a holiday weekend. Bring cash or a card, expect a per visit limit on most materials, and keep household chemicals in their original containers. The service is for Clark County residents and not for businesses, farms, schools or government agencies.

Hold the free household pile for the October cleanup day

The city's Community Clean Up Day runs on Saturday October 10 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., it is free, and residents have to show proof of residency. Yard debris, furniture, electronics, clothing, tires and general trash are the items the city lists, which makes it the cheaper route for a household pile that would otherwise be a paid bulk pickup.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Springfield splits the work between the curb and the county. Trash is collected every Monday in the green 96 gallon cart, and bulky household items go on the alternate Fridays marked on the joint city and Waste Pro 2026 schedule, as long as the request reaches Waste Pro by Thursday afternoon and the load stays within four items and two hundred pounds combined. Waste Pro also runs open-top containers for construction and cleanup loads Monday through Saturday. Anything the cart refuses, including electronics, paint, tires, bulbs, batteries, appliances and household chemicals, goes to the Clark County Specialty Recycling Center on West Main Street, open Thursdays and the first Saturday of the month for Clark County residents with payment on site. The free city Community Clean Up Day on Saturday October 10 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. is the low cost way to clear a household pile, and proof of residency is required. Televisions and monitors, other electronics including computer systems, stereo equipment, VCRs and DVD players, appliances including refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers, latex and oil based paint, passenger and light truck tires, fluorescent bulbs, rechargeable and dry cell batteries, household hazardous waste, cooking oil, propane cylinders and secure document destruction.

Clark County residents only, with no businesses, farms, schools or government agencies. Televisions and monitors are limited to five per visit, paint to ten gallons per visit, tires to ten per visit, CFC appliances to five per visit, document shredding to two bankers boxes per visit, and there are higher rates for high intensity and UV lamps. Household chemicals have to stay in their original containers, cooking oil has to be strained and handed to a staff member, and large propane tanks beyond backyard grill size are not part of the free cylinder service.

Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Springfield.

How much does TV removal cost in Springfield?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Springfield?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Where do Springfield televisions and computers go?

To the Clark County Specialty Recycling Center at 1620 W Main St, open Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon. Televisions and monitors are charged by weight with a limit of five per visit and a flat charge for a bare tube, while computers, stereo equipment, VCRs and DVD players are free.
