Match the screen

Flat screen or tube? Start with the shape.

The TV’s type and size determine which item to choose. A new model and an old model can use the same option if their shape and screen size match.

Flat-screen TVs

Measure the screen diagonally, corner to corner, without the frame. Choose under 42 inches or 42 inches and larger. A TV measuring exactly 42 inches belongs to the larger option.

Tube TVs

An older tube or CRT television has curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Choose Tube TV even if its screen is small. A rear-projection TV is different; send a photo before booking so we can check the fit.

TV stands and other electronics

The TV price covers the television. Add a media console, computer monitor or other item separately if it is going too. Choose only what you want removed and review the combined price.

Televisions, computers and other electronics

Accepted with preparation

The county bulky rate list prices a television, laptop or printer as an electronics item through the collection company, and notes that televisions must not go in the garbage. The free route is Oregon E-Cycles, whose participating sites take computers, monitors, televisions and printers at no cost.

City cost & eligibility
From $10.35 per electronics item on the August 1, 2026 county bulky rate list, with the flat pick-up fee added. The paid route covers a television, monitor, computer, laptop or printer through your collection company. Oregon E-Cycles sites take the same group at no charge, seven items or fewer per visit, including keyboards and mice, and other types of electronics are not in the free program.
When & how
Booked with your collection company, or taken to a participating Oregon E-Cycles collection site or a Metro transfer station, which is an Oregon E-Cycles location.
Get it ready
Erase the data on a computer, tablet or phone before it leaves your hands, keep the power supply with the device, and keep electronics out of the garbage and the recycling cart. Oregon E-Cycles sites take seven or fewer computers, monitors, televisions and printers per visit, intact or broken.

The handoff matters

Right item.
Right place.

Book a bulky item before the truck comes

Bulky items are not swept up by the weekly cart truck: you call your collection company, the bulky item day may differ from the normal collection day, and the flat pick-up fee is billed even if the items are not out when the crew arrives. Call-back rates apply when a set-out does not match the instructions.

Book a bulky item pickup with your collection company

A household with a couch, a mattress, an appliance, a television, tires or another large piece that the cart will not take.

Cost & conditions
From $16 for flat pick-up fee per visit, with a separate item charge added for each piece. The county sets $16.00 per visit for an urban address inside the Metropolitan Service District boundary and $32.00 for a rural address outside it, and item rates run from $11.39 for a small item to $42.50 for an appliance containing coolant. Confirm the fee for the address with your company.
Arrange it
Call the garbage and recycling company assigned to your address, describe the items, get the total, and set everything out on the bulky item day the company gives you.

Priced by item size or material, unlisted items are quoted individually, the pick-up fee is billed even when the items are not out, and access that slows the crew is billed in five-minute increments.

Clean yard debris has a $37 minimum, separated clean wood a $42 minimum, coolant appliances are $30 each, and a public customer at a staffed scale also pays a $30 transaction fee per load. Load the vehicle, cover the load, take it to 6161 NW 61st Ave. in Portland during public hours, and pay at the scale.

Vehicles and anything with a drive motor, asbestos containing material, burned material and wildfire ash, flat or built up roofing, loads of liquids, petroleum contaminated soil, radioactive metals and electric vehicle batteries are refused.

With a new purchase

Use a free Oregon E-Cycles collection site

A household with a television, monitor, computer, laptop or printer, which includes the items a garbage route will not take.

Cost & conditions
No charge. Oregon E-Cycles is free: participating collection sites take seven or fewer computers, monitors, televisions and printers at a time, and keyboards and mice are free as well. Other types of electronics are not included in the program.
Arrange it
Find the nearest participating site on the state locator or by calling 888-769-0149, then deliver the equipment during that site's hours.

The programme covers computers, monitors, televisions, printers and computer peripherals only, and a site may have its own hours and acceptance details, so call before a trip.

Taking it somewhere yourself?

Self-hauling from Rockcreek means a trip to a transfer station. Metro Central at 6161 NW 61st Ave. in Portland is open to the general public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and closes only on the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's days. Garbage is charged from a minimum upward and by the ton beyond 240 pounds, separated clean wood and clean yard debris cost less than mixed debris, coolant appliances and tires carry their own per item fees, and a public customer at the staffed scale pays a transaction fee per load. Tires, mattresses, televisions and appliances are also on the collection company's bulky item list if you would rather not drive, and the county lists other transfer centres on the west side plus a drop-off finder tool for anything unusual. Before you book

A few things
worth knowing.

TV removal, from choosing your item to pickup day in Rockcreek.

How much does TV removal cost in Rockcreek?

A flat-screen TV under 42 inches is $79 as the first item and $19 as an additional item. Larger flat screens and tube TVs have their own prices. Loading, transportation and disposal are included. Choose the type that matches your TV and review your total, including any applicable tax, before payment.

Can I get same-day TV pickup in Rockcreek?

Book by 2pm at your pickup address for same-day pickup. Choose from the dates offered at checkout and have the TV outside according to your confirmation. We text you when your hauler is on the way and provide photos when the pickup is done.

Will Dropcurb remove my TV from the wall or carry it downstairs?

You arrange unmounting, disconnection and indoor carrying before pickup. Dropcurb starts at an accessible outdoor location, where we load your TV and take it away. If you need help removing a mounted TV or moving a heavy tube TV outside, arrange that separately before your pickup day.

Do you pick up old tube or CRT televisions?

Yes. Choose Tube TV for an older television with curved glass and a deep, heavy body. Its price is $249 as the first item and $249 as an additional item. A rear-projection television is a different item; send a photo before booking rather than choosing the tube-TV option.

Does my old TV have to work?

Your TV does not need to turn on for removal. Choose its type and size and arrange to have it outside before pickup. A non-working TV and a TV with exposed broken glass are different situations; send a photo of unusual damage so we can confirm the plan before you book.

Is there a free way to recycle a television in Rockcreek?

Yes. Oregon E-Cycles is a free state program, and participating collection sites take seven or fewer computers, monitors, televisions and printers at a time, plus keyboards and mice, whether the item is intact or broken. A Metro transfer station is an Oregon E-Cycles location with a seven item daily limit, while the collection company route bills a television as an electronics item on top of its pick-up fee.Official guidance

Who collects garbage in Rockcreek?

Rockcreek is unincorporated Washington County, so there is no city sanitation department. Washington County assigns a certificated garbage and recycling company to each address, sets the rates that company may charge, and publishes the company and the collection day through its Garbage and Recycling Day tool. Questions about a bill go to the collection company, and questions about the rates go to Solid Waste & Recycling at 503-846-3605.Official guidance
